Subs: Olsen, Cash, Digne, Konsa, Luiz, Buendia, Bailey, Ings, Archer

Not sure of the above line up myself as it certainly lacks a bit of pace but we have a squad, so I suppose we should use it.

Bednarek and Dendoncker are cup tied

Go strong, go for the win, look to introduce the likes of Chambers, Digne, McGinn and Ings 45-60 mins in.

Beating these twice in a week would be absolutely class - Get the feeling they will have a point to prove though so not overly confident - Suppose it all depends on who picks the stronger team.

Unchanged team, smash the bastards again.

I like the cut of your jib sir!.

Definitely should go strong.

Build on what we have started. Make changes that have a real purpose & dividend. Start Kamara, if that's where his recovery is now. Try Sanson. If Digne need nursing back, Ashley Young should be a no risk change. Possibly Ings or Archer but no wholesale changes just for the sake of it.

This tie now looks winnable and progress in the cup is just what we need right now.

Emery will know that they will be smarming from yesterday and will try and smash us in vengence. Suspect it will be quite a strong team and suspect that Fernandes will be starting in light of how woeful they were yesterday.

I wonder if we go there and soak up the pressure for as long as possible. Start Kamara (if fit) and Dendoncker (if not cup-tied) or alternatively maybe Luiz, Chambers or even Nakamba(!). Probably look at Watkins Really stop them in the midfield; lots of pressure and really shut them down. See the crowd turn against them and then throw on Ings and/or Archer at the right time in the 2nd half (60 minutes or so) and nick it 1-0.

I really do think we see a very different team, if not personal wise, mentality wise at least. It is why Emery already feels like the right appointment.

edit - wasn’t aware that Dendoncker and Bednarek were cup tied.  Have amended.

Well, you got my attention. Am I missing something? This is a real departure from Sunday. Not saying it's bad, but just wondering how you arrived at that. Why not start Bailey and Buendia? No Konsa? Trying to understand.

Well, because to prevent potential injuries, as three games in a week can be a big ask, especially if anyone is carrying a knock from yesterday?

In addition, it’s a squad game! So let’s utilise it.

Emery may also wish to see what his whole squad has got to offer in a game situation rather than just training?
