We can replicate this scene today if you like? (contains swearing)

But it probably won’t be as triumphant and enjoyable as that. It’ll be more like -

“COME ON VILLA!!!!”

“Yep. Gerrard’s set us up not to lose today with that team.”

”Actually we look ok here. Ollie’s having a good game.”

”FFS Watkins”

“****”

”There it is”

“Knew that was coming.”

”Has McGinn made one accurate pass today?”

“MAKE A ****ING CHANGE”

”Why does every team become world beaters when they play us.”

”Right lads I’m done.”

Maybe it shows I just don't like football as much as I used to, but I'm just not bothered the games have been cancelled.

Plenty of other stuff to do

Admit it, you were getting excited for the Gerrard thread at 5pm 😉

It’s like I’m following an actual game 😳

Look at the other sports and see have they've honoured the Queen and the new king. Football instead has done nothing.

Have they given any sort of clarification as to why they decided to cancel everything? Is there some sort of precedence?

Lady Di, I suppose, but that was a tragic, unexpected accident.

I think it's because they don't expect football fans to behave correctly because we're all working class scum

Seeing updates on the cricket today being played at the Oval while the Great North Run takes place and rugby being scheduled for next weekend.

Yet football for some reason needed to stop, and that has trickled down to every FA affiliated league.

What a completely **** moronic decision with the World Cup delay incoming, whoever made that call needs to be made known to explain their decision. I’m absolutely baffled as to why it has extended to Sunday League too.

This is what has been said in various papers.

"We don't think the fans will care enough to show respect so let's cancel the games. We're bound to then have some very respectful fans the week after when it's the funeral"

Plenty of good football available to watch still. Currently jumping back and forth between Athletic Bilbao away at Elche and Union Berlin away at 1. FC Köln.

Both very entertaining games.

It's annoying but it could be worse, in covid had to resort to watching the Talikranistan 3rd division or something for a bit of footy

Kid I used to work with probably had £100 riding on who won the next corner in that game
