We waved the white flag taking off Coutinho for Nakamba. We needed someone like Coutinho to get small spells of possession to break the siege. We barely touched the ball after he went off. And Nakamba offered nothing defensively. McGinn pretty anonymous today. Digne excellent I thought. Our strikers’ finishing is a disaster. The reaction of Luiz versus De Bruyne to the loose ball for the third goal tells you everything about a winning mentality and luck thereof.

The only sub Gerrard needed to make was Ings for Watkins and the stupid scouse clearing in the woods takes off Coutinho and Buendia and brings on Nakamba & the pensioner Young and it all fell apart!

Not really sure why people are saying that was embarrassing or slating us. I fully expected us to get smashed by an incredible team at their place. If the ref had been applying the actual rules of the game we shoudl have had a penalty and a host of other weird decisions in City's favour. We had the wherewithal to get 2 up in the first place exploiting their nervousness. I'm not Gerrard's number one fan but you can't have it both ways, he set the team up that got 2 in front. Had we had Martinez I think he claims the cross for the first goal and saves their second quite comfortably, that's not Gerrard's fault.

We gave them a decent game in the end really, Chambers was very good indeed. Let's see what the summer brings.

Ramsey is never a 10. Since the first sub we've gone from a 2 goal lead to a draw. Making your second change at that point is not rocket surgery.

But then I wouldn’t have gone to town blaming the last manager for such a collapse. 

Only the individual will ultimately know whether they’d have been as consistent.

McGinn, Luiz and especially Naka had just way too many mental errors at the end. McGinn and Luiz played hard the whole game, so I can at least understand why they **** up. Naka has to go.

Sorry but it's not the ref's fault that we completely fell apart at 0-2 up and have somehow lost 3-2.

Oliver's a word removed and I questioned his appointment to officiate this match in midweek due to his being a Toon fan, but any claims that we're not the authors of our own downfall today can't be serious.

The weak mentality runs through the entire club. Hard to blame on any manager really.

If i remember correctly we were one of the top teams to surrender points from winning positions under Smith, it's been a problem with us for years.

Pitch invasion- at least we don’t have to do a guard of honour. Get on the coach get back home. Rest up and start preparing for next season.
