Same old Villa. Easy run of fixtures and we **** it up. Last thing we need is to piss these next few games away and end up looking over our shoulders with a tough run to end the season.

I just don't understand how we can't score goals with the players that we have. Defence is an absolute disgrace. Powderpuff team.

only Villa could sign one of the word's most expensive players and upgrade our left back with a French international and yet look and play even worse.

It's always unacceptable to lose to the bottom side at home, but that was a dismal performance, creating no good chances and being deeply boring to watch. We have somehow managed to gift Watford 33% of the points they've scored this season.

A couple of weeks back, I saw an article noting that Gerrard's Aston Villa were statistically no better than Smith's Aston Villa this season, except for the crucial statistic of points per game. As soon as I read that my heart sank, because that suggested an obvious risk of regression to the mean, and lo and behold that's what's happened. We've lost in consecutive games to teams in the relegation zone, putting in dismal performances both times, and now we're just vaguely on the outskirts of a relegation battle.

Unless there is real, meaningful improvement not just in points scored but in the actual quality of our play, then I'm sorry to say but we will have to start considering a managerial change.

Only Brentford Norwich and Watford have lost more games than us… wtf are we even trying to do? How can we have Coutinho and Digne and look worse than before?

I spent all this week  refreshing the tickets page to try and get two tickets for this. Actually so glad people were beating me to it every time I went to buy one as and when they become available. We’ve spent so much money and still can’t make a dent in this league. As I said in the previous thread - We appoint a manager who’s only ever done the Scottish league and expect to get into Europe cos he convinced one good player to join us. That was a bit silly of us wasnt it?

No discernible pattern of play. Weak subs, no system of note. Wasting players like Coutinho and Buendia. Not impressed with SG so far these past few games.

The subs were awful. Watkins and Ings never works together. Buendia coming off and Watkins coming on killed any threat Ings had in the game. Sanson should have come on to give us more in the midfield.
