Makes a change to his usual Easy-E expression that everyone has come to know! Strahan does a great impression of it in the video on the link above and it transitions from that to Eli's, its priceless!

First couple of drives were great but then we struggled somewhat which i think was early season rust more than anything. Not an amazing performance but plenty of bright points on the whol with the only real negative being the inability to get 7 instead of 3 a few times.

Can't complain, a wins a win so onwards now and we have extra time to prepare for the next game and hopefully get sharper so that when we dominate like we did early tonight we put teams away for good rather than have them hanging around all game like today.

Deal makes sense for both Plax & Giants

Contracts are never really what they seem at first, and Plaxico Burress’ new five-year, $35 million deal is apparently no exception.

I’ve already told you (thanks to an NFL Network report) that the contract is loaded with incentives and bonuses. But according to the NFLPA, it must be really loaded because the deal only includes $13.5 million in salaries.

Burress, according to union records, will make $2 million in base salary this year, $1 million in 2009, and $3.5 million in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Now, those are only the yearly base salary figures, which might be the most meaningless numbers in any NFL contract, so it’s not like that’s the only amount Burress will make in each of those years. The NFL Network reported that his deal includes $5 million in escalators - clauses that will raise some of those salaries if he hits certain performance levels - another $3.5 million in bonuses for participating in minicamps and training camps, and a $4.25 million signing bonus.

Drew Rosenhaus, who negotiated the deal, also said Burress has about $1 million worth of bonuses over the life of the deal for participating in a certain amount of the Giants’ offseason program. Rosenhaus also said that $11 million of the deal is guaranteed.

Add in all those reported bonuses to the $13.5 million in salaries, and those alone mean Burress’ deal could be worth as much as $27.25 million. And there are probably many other performance incentives and/or roster bonuses that would raise the value even further.

But there’s no guarantee - in fact, far from it - that he will make an average of $7 million per season over the life of the deal.

The bottom line is this: It appears, on the surface, to be a very cap-friendly deal for the Giants for the life of the contract - especially if he ends up getting hurt. That’s something the front office obviously took into consideration, given his ankle troubles and his injury history. This deal gives Burress the ability to say he’s being paid like the NFL’s top receivers, and it gives the Giants the comfort of knowing he still has to earn it.

Don't remind me of those opening games last season, truly shocking defense..

Been impressed with Eli so far. Had a nce start against Washington, but then I had the feeling of "here we go again" when he threw that stupid interception. But a fairly decent performance overall. Great display against the Rams to boot. As for our running game.. if we can keep all these guys it would be great, don't think we will though.
