I really don’t think it has - there’s been some great stuff!

I’ll be posting mine a little later and knowing your music tastes from previous posts, reckon there’ll be stuff on there you’d like too!

Looking forward to your list then!

Turnstile - Glow On

In the time honoured tradition of hardcore bands being able to be labelled 'sell outs', and that sort of thing, here is Turnstile's probably not a hardcore album, album. I kind of want to hate it, but I can't, cos it's good, man.

Lingua Ignota - Sinner Get Ready

Quite simply, it delivered. It's everything all of her fans would have wanted, and then some. It's a different place (emotionally, but also literally) compared to what she released previously, and I think it's better for it.

The World is a Beautiful Place and I am no Longer Afraid to Die - Illusory Walls

Almost like an inverted Body record, it's somewhere between 90s / midwest Emo and post-rock, with a really progressive scope.

King Woman - Celestial Blues

Two of my favourite albums of all time are Slint's Spiderland and Examination of the..'s Whitest of Elephants. As soon as I listened to this, I was transported to both of those albums, so a 2021 list wouldn't really be complete without a mention.

Regional Justice Centre - Crime and Punishment

Kicks harder than pretty much anything else I heard this year (I guess the Gulch/Sunami split was close)

You know me, I’m not the sort to create an undue fuss.

But the above is exactly the reason I sent in such a vitriolic report to the moderators about this thread.

There was still almost 10% of the year left when this thread was created. As strong a sign as any of the me me me now now now culture some people have fallen victim too.

Yes, some would say my missive to the mods was overly violently descriptive of what actions I wanted taken against the perp. But it was for good reason. Even now, there are still 9 more days for finds and presides.

Never been so angry.

I like that it has a red spine with yellow writing, so it will be easy to find

Exactly why I had to go back and edit my choices, this late entry went straight on the list on first listen

I create at best a single thread a year at a guess. I have seen washing machine threads be more popular than anything I could muster. I wanted a sure fire winner that would go beyond 3 replies. I appreciate you are hearing Billie Eilish for the first time so want to get her on this list, don't shoot the messenger.

Twas one of the more disturbing pleas we’ve ever received. Death by repeated exposure to videos of John Redwood pretending to sing the Welsh national anthem, followed by a thorough beating with a rolled up copy of the 2012 Barry Town v Pontardawe Town match programme and 5 warning points. Brutal.
