As there is a discussion many of us want to have in relation to smiths replacement - whenever that may well be … as per mods advice new thread for discussion on who you’d like to see as our next manager.

EDIT: There's a thread now in VT for speculation on our managerial situation - lets keep this one for anyone who wants to discuss managers in general - OBE

In order of preference

1. Sherwood

2. Redknapp

3. Lampard

4. Gerrard

5. Rooney

6. Hoddle

7. Allardyce

8. Megson

9. Pulis

10. Mick McCarthy

All "proper football men". Get the big lad on and hit the channels. None of your expected facetube nonsense, or tactics or coaching. Get them 'up for it' and then let them hit the pints, coke and whores after the game to 'unwind'. Pressing? Do one.

Joey Barton FTW

One name immediately springs to mind. Bags of premier league experience, currently out of wor job through little fault of his own, had even managed us before and signed our most recent captain. Will steady the ship and get the players to pull wor socks up.

Speaking of manager speculation, Newcastle is apparently down to the massive world class shortlist of...  Eddie Howe and Unai Emery...  Granted, it's a hell of a step up from Bruce and Pardew, but quite a ways away from some of the fantasy names thrown around by their fans.

With all the suggestion I hope we can turn it around with the one we have. Not any name mentioned that makes me confident we would be better.

Potter would be a good hire but don't think he would come midseason and I think he waits for another job than Villa.

To be fair, both would be smarter appointments than Mourinho, Ancelloti or similar.

It's only Eddie How now,  everyone else is rejecting them.

Hilarious.
