Based on the squad news today, I’d still like us to go with the following team:

                                Martinez

    Cash         Konsa             Mings       Targett

                                    Luiz

                 McGinn                 Sanson

      Buendia               Ings                     El Ghazi

Subs:  Steer, Tuanzebe, Hause, Young, Ramsey, Carney, Traore, Bailey, Watkins

Bring Traore, Bailey and Watkins on in the second half to truly rub salt in the Arsenal wounds!

That's certainly the kind of shape that we'll need to fit the wingers in, we can't do it with 2 up top or 3 at the back with our midfield.

Could also go:

                                Martinez

    Cash         Konsa             Mings       Targett

                           Luiz    McGinn

         Buendia      Chukwuemeka    Watkins

                                   Ings

Then you could move Buendia to the 10 role to bring on Bertie and move Watkins up top for Ings to bring on Bailey. Ramsey for Carney maybe. I think it's a shape that suits what we've got.

Think I'd go with..

                    Martinez

Cash --- Konsa - - - Mings - - - Targett

                    Douglas

         Mcginn -------- Ramsey

 Buendia - - - - Ings - - - - - - Watkins

Sanson might not be fit yet but would sub him on for Ramsey around 65mins. Bertie for Buendia 80mins.

We bossed Arsenal last season, and I wonder whether that was because we revelled in our 'under dog' tag?

We don't seem to do so well when we shoulder the weight of expectation.

Last season was without fans.

It makes a huge difference.

Hate these Friday games.

Got the potential to ruin my entire weekend.

not for me anymore, football shouldn't do that to you its not worth it, especially with these villa and arsenal teams as inconsistent as they are, we could win this 3-0 just as easily as we could lose it 3-0, tonight's result depends as much on who got out of bed in what mood this morning as much as it does anything else and you cant hang your mood on that

i was lining up a pack of beers and some rum for it but i cant be bothered if im honest, i'll probably watch it in bed whilst the wife watches some soap opera

I know the feeling but I am a glass half full person so I am saying to myself that we will win this evening and it will make my weekend even better. In Ireland this weekend is a bank holiday weekend so Monday off and today our Covid restrictions are relaxed a little more and pub closing times are extended and we are now allowed to order a pint at the bar as opposed to having table service only. So 3 points please and I can enjoy another step in returning to normality

On this football weekend 3 years ago, we lost 2-1 away to Norwich - inflicting Dean Smith's first loss as manager and putting us 16th in the Championship with 18 points from 14 games.

3 years later, we're pretty confident about facing Arsenal away from home :D

Lost 2 on the bounce. Ings and Watkins look completely out of sync with each other.

It's truly truly time to get back to basics and a 1 striker system.

If we lose against Arsenal we will have less points after 9 games than the 19/20 season.

It makes the wolves collapse even more inexcusable.

We need to see a reaction. A big reaction.

Roll up roll up, get your prerequisites in early boys, need to list the things Dean needs to do in this one match, so if he doesn't we can all beat him over the head with the list of things he should have done.
