Great result, and we haven’t really got started yet.

However, I felt just as last weeks 3-0 loss was a credit to Smith, I feel our 3-0 win was despite Smith today. Didn’t quite work, Watkins and Ings never in it and that was never the plan surely? Individual brilliance at work today, but that’s why we spent the money.

We feel so much better for our additions, haven’t played our strongest side yet. Wither Grealish….

Did we really change? The wing backs spent more time forward today so it looked more like a 3-5-2 than a 5-3-2. I think Bailey stepped right into Targett's role. Targett just wasn't effective going forward.

Yes. Mings moved to lb. Bailey, zings and Ollie up front.

Bailey: Wow. Who needs Grealish? Should have gotten credit for the second goal despite the Everton touch. Most of the time two goals would be Man of the Match, but that goes to…

Cash: My MOM for second week in a row. I would have voted that way even before he scored. Dangerous all day going forward, defended well again. Has taken a real step forward this year.  Great pass for the third.

Mings: Back to his best today. A colossus in the air.

Ramsey: Quiet first half, better in the second. Don’t burn out young players: I’d give him a rest next week.

Targett: His defending is back. Unfortunately, his crosses kept getting blocked or going astray. Still not back to his best. I would start Young ahead of him, or Bailey if we’re playing 3-5-2.

Nakamba: He’s never going to be spectacular, but he has improved since last year and I’m no longer nervous when he comes on.

Ings: Did so many little things right today. He’s getting in dangerous positions and the goals will come. If Ramsey had laid off a pass instead of going for goal in the middle of the second half, he would have had one. Also made a couple good interventions when tracking back. Crucial pass in the buildup to Cash’s goal. I know that some people around here are questioning him. Not I.

Watkins: Quiet today.

Best of the opposition: I was really impressed with Iwobi and Gray.

I agree with most of that but Iwobi?  I think Everton are very generous in playing him against us so much, he is utterly pointless.

Hard to pick a MOTM but I thought Mings was great.  We perhaps gave them too much respect with the XI we picked, it would have been nice to start with wingers, especially Bailey who looks class.  Hopefully he hasn't got anything too serious.

Gave the ref an average because I think we got lucky with that Konsa pull on Gray.

Besides that, though, brilliant performance from manager, whole team… set pieces were excellent. Didn’t give Everton many chances.

Watkins and Ings yet to click as a pair, but in fact their contributions were excellent - Watkins causing loads of problems for Everton’s defence, and Ings with a sublime assist for Bailey.

Cash showing he can attack.

And special mention to Nakamba, who I thought was excellent today.

What was really great was how every substitution worked and didn’t unsettle anything. We just grew constantly into the game, apart from a little wobble early in second half.

Until Bailey came on it was pretty dull although no one was actually playing badly

He provided that spark we needed

I liked how we kept pouring it on, we were ruthless and kept up the energy levels right until the end
