It's great for clubs looking to sell their assets, although imagine the meltdown here if we were to sell one of our best players to Newcastle 😊

They can have El Ghazi for £100 million.

If they have a few knockbacks from their first choice transfer targets I can actually see them going for someone like AEG either in January or next summer. He's not that good in that he'l come back to haunt us but had solid stats for minutes played last two years in premier league and in mid 20s so Newcastle could do worse and with money to burn we could comfortably get about 15m out of them if not more.

TBH, I probably wouldn’t sell him for £15 million.  He’s still a decent squad option, and any replacement for him is going to cost £15-20 million anyway.

Yes but "penalties don't count" that's the real reason Bruno smashed his into orbit.

He has 18 months left on his deal.

Issue here is we offer him new 4 year deal and suddenly he's potentially someone on very good wages who isn't playing much which dogged us in the last two years of MON. Pretty sure last 2-3 matches he's been an unused sub and even with injuries today he's still only on the bench so another who'll struggle for game time when every attacker is fit for us so that's the crux.

He's generally served us well but I'd sell if anyone bid 15m for him in Jan and we can then wait to the summer to replace him.

Issue with Lerner and Abu Dhabi was that our foundations were built on sand and quickly disintegrated. We are on a whole different level of stability nowadays so we shouldn't worry about them and focus on us. We may lose out on targets to them initially but we will have done our due diligence and have multiple options per position.

Our foundations weren't built on FFP...

Still maintain that out of all the clubs in the PL we were the ones **** the most by it, we had a children's charity on our shirt rather than a betting company

I think they will go for the best of the players that are outside the top six in January. The likes of JWP, Sarr, Coady, McNeil, Dunk, Toney and perhaps even a cheeky bid for Super John/Watkins from us. I trust we would tell them what to do with any bid, as would their potential relegation rivals. They can then focus on building a team that is capable of making a promotion challenge in the summer.  ;)

Troll question… Would anyone give a fit Jack wilshere a 18month pay as you play contract ?

I would give a fit Jack Wilshire a 4 year deal. Sadly there’s no such thing as a fit Jack Wilshire!

I’m slowly coming around to the idea that we should sign nobody in January. I have been desperate for us to sign a centre midfielder for what seems like ages but now I think that we should hang fire. From the outside looking in, it looks as though Smith is quite unclear as to what our best formation(s)/personnel are. He needs to work that out before deciding what we need to improve upon.

I still think 4-3-3 is our best option but for that I think we need a more physical DCM, we probably need to drop Ings and we may also need a specialist 10.

If Dean wants to stick with 5-3-2 then we need proper wing backs and a ball playing centre back, plus maybe a 10.

Dean needs to decide what we are and then buy players based on whatever that is. At the moment it feels as though we don’t quite have the players to fit either system perfectly.

dropping Danny Ings would be suicide, right now.

Why would it? He has done ok. Not brilliant. If we switch to 4-3-3 we can only play him or Watkins in my view. Watkins is far better suited to the role

Danny scores goals, he reads situations and makes runs in to critical area's, as a result.

Ollie is great....but right now a shadow of last seasons player, needs a rest, if any one of them does.

Ollie is reported as not wanting to play out wide, so we will see how that pans out.

We can play any system you want.....but the players have to turn up.

That last 15 minutes we needed 15 on the pitch, to compensate for such a woeful offering.

Our buddy Julian Alvarez scored a hattrick last night for River Plate. He now has 10 goals and 4 assists in 12 league games this season.

Unlikely we'll still be in for him since we signed Ings but I kinda hope we are.

I prefer that they gave me 6 months to see If I could get up to the level of pro athlete at 33. Would be as much a waste of time.
