4-4-1-1 perhaps, or 3-5-2, but I just think 4-4-2 is out of date. None of the top teams play it and it generally applies more to teams who go long than teams who play football.

 

We played it under MON and I hated it, especially when Heskey started.

Can’t stress this enough - it just dictates your starting positions not the patterns of play. We’ve got so much flexibility up front that the formation is irrelevant as it will evolve and change throughout the game
