The 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics

It's almost upon us,the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics (formerly known as the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics) one year late and with absolutely no hype. Or fans.

So far it's mostly been negative stuff with local protests, athletes and coaches saying the game should be cancelled, Covid cases in the Olympic village, extremely strict regulations and now a Uzbeki man who has been arrested for rape near the Olympic stadium.

As per usual they will be handing out 160.000 condoms to the athletes but due to Covid restrictions they are not allowed to have sex until after the games  And to make sure this doesn't happen they have introduced these cardboard anti-sex beds in the Olympic village. Good luck with that one.

Athletes Given 'Anti-Sex' Beds At Tokyo Olympics

Concerns have been raised over the past 18 months with regards to how the Olympic Games in Tokyo can be made as Covid-safe as possible.

And in an effort to keep athletes focused on their disciplines and socially distanced, organisers for this year's delayed event have created so-called 'anti-sex' beds.

The cardboard structures have been installed in athletes' dorms at the Olympic village and it's hoped it will help stem the tide of Covid in Japan.

With a max weight of 200kg, the beds will reportedly collapse if competitors attempt to enjoy a bit of nookie in their spare time. So it will be clear who has been obeying the rules and who hasn't.

With that in mind, athletes have also been told not to use the customary condoms they have been given ahead of the start of the games this week, instead being asked to keep them as a memento of the games.

I can't understand how this Olympics has ben costed at nearly £19 billion when only 8 venues and athletes village have been built entirely from scratch.

At a guess the same as the Qatar World Cup where they then tie in every infrastructure project in the country to the games

New airport terminal or refurb is added to the tab, new motorway leading in to the city, add it to the tab

The costs for Wembley stadium for ecamole sometimes include the station

Perfect background TV while working.

This for me too, love the Olympics, especially how GB can be great at random things, fond memories of really getting in to stuff like canoeing cos our guy won

There's not that many events where GB outright doesn't stand a chance

Other than baseball I like the new sports too

Apart from all the PR stuff and merchandise etc… plus the actual logistics/infrastructure of it all Tokyo has had a lot of the buildings under refurbishment for the last 4-5 years and have now had the wrappings taken off to show off to absolutely no one. Plus a new stadium. Loads of refurbishments around tourist areas and by the rivers/Bay Area.

It’s been a massive shame as the government has gone all out on it in terms of regeneration for a lot of areas and banking on the tourist boost for the economy, the city and its local businesses. Also, the reputation and Honor of all those involved has seemingly been shattered. A big loss.

Fantastic advert on channel4 4 for the Paralympics, with the line "to be a Paralympian there's got to be something wrong with you" Great advert, in amongst all the shite these days.

I may be wrong but I don't think the cycling 'medal factory' will be quite as successful this Olympics. A number of management and coaching staff have left , and have been replaced by people who suffer the slight handicap of not knowing much about cycling ! We shall see.

200kg seems a bit high.

That's workable for a 85kg man and two women each weighing 55kg let alone just a man and a woman.

Let alone the gymnast's who'll be able to hang from the ceiling fittings.
