Or fans. So far it's mostly been negative stuff with local protests, athletes and coaches saying the game should be cancelled, Covid cases in the Olympic village, extremely strict regulations and now a Uzbeki man who has been arrested for rape near the Olympic stadium. As per usual they will be handing out 160.000 condoms to the athletes but due to Covid restrictions they are not allowed to have sex until after the games And to make sure this doesn't happen they have introduced these cardboard anti-sex beds in the Olympic village. The cardboard structures have been installed in athletes' dorms at the Olympic village and it's hoped it will help stem the tide of Covid in Japan. With a max weight of 200kg, the beds will reportedly collapse if competitors attempt to enjoy a bit of nookie in their spare time. So it will be clear who has been obeying the rules and who hasn't. Ingram85 Posted July 18, 2021 Share Posted July 18, 2021 Apart from all the PR stuff and merchandise etc… plus the actual logistics/infrastructure of it all Tokyo has had a lot of the buildings under refurbishment for the last 4-5 years and have now had the wrappings taken off to show off to absolutely no one. Plus a new stadium. Loads of refurbishments around tourist areas and by the rivers/Bay Area. It’s been a massive shame as the government has gone all out on it in terms of regeneration for a lot of areas and banking on the tourist boost for the economy, the city and its local businesses. A number of management and coaching staff have left , and have been replaced by people who suffer the slight handicap of not knowing much about cycling ! We shall see. That's workable for a 85kg man and two women each weighing 55kg let alone just a man and a woman. Let alone the gymnast's who'll be able to hang from the ceiling fittings.
