Regarding Swinkels i agree totally. He is a big unit and seems far quicker than last season . He can spray the ball really well from cb and is only 18 and a bit still so loads of time to develop. Must be 6'4 now so can be really dominant in the air to go along with his passing out from the back strength.

Kadan looks very very good for what he is which is a schoolboy in the 5th year for us olduns. Lots of pace skill awareness and aggression. Might be one to really watch out for.

Patterson was fantastic as well . Another one still at school but already has the physical attributes to go alongside really strong technical skills.  Another really talented attacking midfielder coming through on the conveyor belt.

O'Reilly is looking better and better. He has the ability to make really quick tight turns which create space for him. You know what he is going to do but he is so quick to turn theres nothing an opponemt can do.  He will get scythed down all the time like Jacky boy is if he plays the same at 1st team level.

To be fair they were all decent today but these 4 were the ones who did stand out.

I’d echo what others have said. K.Young looked very lively. Interesting that over the last few weeks we’ve pushed some of the back four into midfield.

Overall, a bit unlucky to come away with nothing. Allen’s goal for Newcastle was really superb, while the winner was a fluke.

19:00 Stoke City(3)     2-1 West Brom(9)

Sunday

Only 2 teams swapped positions in 12th and 13th. Everything else stayed the same, so Wolves play Norwich and Stoke play Forest in the playoff semis.

Josh Feeney will be 17 on Friday.

Such a talent and very accomplished, especially for his age and position. Be interesting to see what his ceiling is but the future is looking very good for him - he's TEN YEARS from his prime.

But only 3 years away from being written off by posters on this forum 😉

Forest had a good first year as a category 1 status academy, top five in the U18 league at the moment and joint third with Man Utd if they win their game in hand, play-offs in the U23 league, and they've also reached the final of the FA Youth Cup.

For us, was looking at the top scorers at U23 level, and noticed that five of the top six spent just half a seasn with us, which probably goes someway to explaining why we struggled results wise somewhat, although there are other factors as well, such as injuries, putting individual player development before team results and so on.

Wolves took 10pts from their last 4 games and Forest won 7 and drew 1 of their last 9. Norwich won 1 of their last 5 and Stoke won 1 of their last 4.

I think we will spend some money on an elite development coach. Someone like Steve Cooper was 4 years ago. Make no mistake our future depends on developing our youth into top class players to either integrate into the squad or sell on for a decent fee.

Wolves play Stoke in Molineux on Monday at 7pm.

Lo and behold, Chelsea got the result they needed to overtake Leeds and stay in the PL2 div 1.

Small heath confirm that their academy has lost it's category 1 status, meaning that next season they will be competing in the Professional Development League rather than the Premier League with us.
