It can be annoying when focused on one spot in the distance for a period of time (like watching a speaker on stage). Occassionally need to blink them away. I definitely have one, possibly two but when I see it I never remember which eye it’s in so can’t say I have one in each eye or whether it’s the original eye floater. I probably first noticed it or them in my early twenties, 30 years later still there but no worse. I’ve mentioned it to opticians a couple of times but they both couldn’t have be less interested as they are perfectly normal. I don’t normally notice it but if I close my eyes whilst in bright sunshine I think ‘oh yeah there’s one, almost forgot about it.’ Nothing to be concerned about. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I woke one morning about 10 years ago and had lost vision in the bottom half of my right eye, I had my eyes checked, saw a multitude of doctors, all said there was nothing wrong. After a year of pestering, I finally got referred for an 'Evoked Potential' test, it turned out to be Optic Neuritis. My eyesight has partially returned although I can't read anything only using my right eye. My advice (from experience) is if you are worried about it, push to be seen by the eye specialists at your local hospital they can do a bunch of tests to double check your eyes and optic nerves. They seem to have settled somewhat and become more transparent over the past month but still noticeable when I’m outside in natural light. I have booked an optician appointment for tomorrow just to get a second opinion. I haven’t had any other eye issues and can see perfectly fine other than the floaters. If you’ve suddenly gone from not noticing them to seeing several, then it’s probably worth an optician appointment. Even the reassurance will gradually help your brain to ignore them. darrenm Posted July 1, 2021 Share Posted July 1, 2021 I started to notice 2 or 3 over the last few months. They've been there for longer without me noticing I think. I reckon my new brighter monitors I use WFH show them up. I chatted to an eye specialist friend and he said they're common but if it's a sudden change then to go and see the doc. I don't think mine was sudden enough. I seem to have 3 in like a triangle shape. It shows just how much your eyes move while your vision is fixed - you look at something else and the floaters catch up a second later or the floaters are moving side to side as you're looking at something.
