It seems to be going 5 at the back to get Robertson as far forward as possible, but I don’t think they needed it against this Czech team. I’m surprised Gilmour doesn’t start alongside McTominay with McGinn infront, with Fraser and and someone else feeding Adams. That Dykes is a lump to hit crosses into and playing big man little man with Christie, I think it undermines the players they have.

They've just tried to emulate Wales a bit who played 3-5-2 and that made them much better defensively than they actually were at euro 2016 and Bale and Ramsey pretty much had free roles to get forward as much as possible.

Difference here is Wales had some luck in their opening game in 2016 v Slovakia and won it and pushed on from there. Scotland haven't and pretty likely they'll lose all three games now.

Just waiting for the @villa4europe precis....wow how good are the Czechs. England will scrape through with 89th minure Kane penalty.😉

This game happened all of two years ago:

think we'll get 2 x 2-0 wins

hard to predict with tournament football, think the scots definitely will shut up shop and be hard to break down, the game vs the czechs depends on who is where in the group, if they only need a point to go through then maybe they do the same

watching this id be disappointed if we concede vs the scots

Ultimately Scotland seem to have some very sloppy passing, their crossing has been mainly poor and they don't seem to have any shooting boots.   Their keeper has made some saves but mainly because they've been hit straight at him.

Their players are often static as well.

England problem won't be group stage this time, probably a bad thing actually winning the group as like with World cup it's a harder knock out run but that seems all but done now with the Croatia win.

Problem will be v a Portugal or France so see how long in knock outs before play one of them.

Anyone would be happy playing Czechs in round of 16. Ironically main danger man Soucek was barely seen although he obviously did more protecting when they went 2 up.

Missed opportunity that. Scotland had the better players the better team but played like absolute tits at times. Nee composure.

I thought the Czechs were the better side. Much more clinical. The socks were expected to have the majority of the ball given the home advantage and other than hitting the bar they didn't do enough imo. The Czechs must be looking for 2nd place as Croatia looked fairly poor yesterday.

Yes they had a lot of the ball in the final 3rd but no composure at all. Wild shots from 30 yards. McGinn must have had about 6/7 first time shots

No composure. No recycling possession. No slowing down the tempo.

Loads of ball. Good players that have played at a high level. I don't know happened.

Exactly  wish we had a bit more competition in the group stage as the media will be ecstatic about how good we are and then we meet France or Portugal without Grealish and get found out.

Yep, as i said probably the weakest quality group so far. Think it could be a 2 team qualification from this. Think Croatia will win next 2 but not great either

It appears the guy who fell from the stand at Wembley yesterday was a Villa fan who was putting up a flag, not sure if alcohol was involved but sounds like he has suffered pretty nasty injuries regardless.

Villa Fan falls

An Aston Villa fan is recovering in hospital after a horrific fall from the stands at Wembley during England's 1-0 Euro 2020 win over Croatia on Sunday.

The Villa supporter, known as Jon, allegedly fell from the front of the top tier at the stadium into the Club Wembley seats down below before suffering two broken ankles, femur and a fractured pelvis, friends have said.

Pals have also informed BirminghamLive how Jon - who follows Aston Villa and England both home and away - was attempting to put his St George's flag on the railings just prior to kick-off before falling.

Ambulance staff quickly scrambled to assist the supporter before he was transferred to hospital where he's since undergone a series of operations.

Wow, sounds pretty awful. Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery.
