Triee to insert a link but as i have massivr thumbs i will have to explain instead

If you go to utube there is a vid called all strikers would like to receive passes from Emi Buendia.

Make sure you are careful opening it as it is pure porn.

Was trying to think who he reminds me of with his vision. Just dawned on me .

Juan Roman Riquelme.

Watch one after the other. Because Buendia is small its easy to consider other stocky short Argentines but the reality is that he is Riquelme mk 2 in all but stature ... without the freekicks i admit . But with James Milner like workrate to compensate.

Winner winner chicken dinner. We have a true potential superstar  on our books now

Yeah I think that's the plan.

Imagine the load taken off McGinn and Luiz with Buendia’s pressing stats compared to Barkley’s. Will let us play that effectively, and also allow him to go out wide and Sanson to come in for all out suffocation.

I think I enjoyed this assists & key passes video more than the goals & assists videos. Seems to have Jack’s ability to judge the path AND pace of a defence splitting pass. Can’t wait to see it in real life at Villa Park.

Totally. He has got magic in spades . The 3 words 'Defence splitting pass '  should now be trademarked and only used in connection with Emi 2

How the hell have we picked him up ? Is it because he has had 3 relegations? Is it because of covid and only ourselves jabe the conviction to bite the bullet in these financially troubling times ? Because you can add Hoddle like long passes with both feet and incredibly close quarter skills like Traore as someone else just mentioned. He is simply an incredible footballer.

£40 mill and i am starting to feel its a bargain. A serious bargain

I voted for Pereira in the thread @BOF did but now I have decided Buendia is the best player in the whole world.

For those who like their stats and more in depth analysis, this is a good read https://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/why-aston-villa-broke-club-transfer-record-to-sign-buendia

Why Aston Villa broke club transfer record to sign Buendia

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City in a club-record transfer.

The Midlands club saw off competition from Arsenal to sign the 24-year-old for a fee believed to be in the region of £35million with a further £5m of add-ons also included in the deal.

Reacting to the news, Villa manager Dean Smith told the club's official website: "Emiliano has just completed an outstanding season in a Championship-winning Norwich side with 31 combined goals and assists and was named Player of the Season across the league.

"He is equally capable as a wide attacker or as a number 10 and is a great addition to our attacking options. We are delighted to have made such an exciting signing so early in the summer and look forward to Emi joining up with us for a full pre-season."

As Smith alludes to, Buendia was named Championship Player of the Year for his part in Norwich's successful promotion a year after dropping down from the top flight.

And, while £35m may sound like a significant fee for a player whose most recent campaign was in the second tier, it is easy to see why Buendia has commanded such an outlay.

It then goes into a whole bunch of stats and analysis - too much to quote here.

Absolutely over the moon about this signing. I wanted him last season and was disappointed we didn't move for him then.

I hope Jack stays because it's going to be fun seeing them in the same team!

What is scarier than facing Jack Grealish?.... Facing two of him!

He's such a throwback player. Who the hell plays through balls like that anymore? Riquelme is a great shout. That Pukki/Emi combo is straight out of the 90's. Shame that Pukki is a bit shit but he's got that old skool #9 spirit.

I think it's worth remembering a lot of those passes would be intercepted in the PL, as the defenders are much much quicker.

But he is definitely a very good player.

He makes Pukki look like Watkins so what the hell is he gonna make Watkins look like

Probably loads. But i think the unique Emi 1 and 2 situation with the same agent , being at Getafe together for a season and becoming friends and Emi 1 being able to tell him what its like at Arsenal would be one hell of an advantage

You have to bear in mind the level of opposition but there is  also a clip of his Premier League highlights and whilst not as outstanding as the Championship stuff, it’s still pretty impressive.

A lot of those passes were in the PL. In fact, he ranked 3rd in the league in through balls that season.

The thing I like about that video is that it had clips from 3 different leagues and levels and it looks like he handled the steps up in his stride each time. A sign of quality.
