Villa's own young Yaya Toure in making They need to go out on loan as they are obviously well ahead of U23 football and need to be tested, physically, technically and mentally. As for Chuka he needs to be around the first team and needs some ‘tough’ matches. He is potentially a top player but there were times tonight when it was clearly too easy for him and he f****d it up , the last thing we need is a Pogba on our hands instead of a Yaya Toure. Popular Post mikeyp102
Firstly so good to be back at VP. Enjoyable evening that. First half we played some great stuff, second lost our way a bit but managed to see it out. Young, certainly in the model of Watkins will run after anything and really puts a shift in. Barry, has a bit of the Grealish in him in that he leaves the ball behind him and then when a defender goes for it just pulls it away last minute. But he’s also got a bit of a Vardy about him, the way he arrows in on goal. Raikhy, a lot bigger than I thought. Looks a very good player, felt him going out wide second half was a mistake as he was controlling the midfield. Chukwuemeka, at times makes it look too easy, but then also got a bit too cocky second half and could’ve released the ball quicker. Kesler so athletic and got a great touch. Was surprised seeing Chrisene on the right, but again so composed on the ball. Really good to see some silver wear at the club, really feels we are heading in a good direction 4
chappy
Wonderful stuff. That first half in particular was electric. One thing though, how are they all doing Instagram lives from the changing room?! I can barely receive a what’s app message at VP

Thought Brad Young was particularly impressive tbh. Agree. His runs in behind the defence were fantastic. Loved the fake shot Chuk did that bamboozled 4 defenders.

useless
Yes have to say I don't really get the Chukwuemeka comparisons to Yaya Toure, he's far more of an attacking/creative player than Toure was.
Popular Post OutByEaster? Posted May 24, 2021 Moderator Popular Post Share Posted May 24, 2021 Magical night. So glad that each and every one of them showed a bit of what they're about - there are good youth teams in the country, but there's no one that has what we have - we can play a type of football that's beyond any other under eighteen team in England - we did that for half an hour in the first half and it was enough to see us through. Delighted for the players, a great win for them, and for the club a first win since before any of the players on the pitch were born. I'm knackered and happy and proud. If this team is indicative of the future of this football club then we're in for an amazing few years.
turvontour
They were immense tonight. What a great way to end the season. Not a bad last five or six days. 2-1 wins v Spurs and Chelsea in the league, and v liverpool to win the FA youth cup. Well done villa! Popular Post Enda
It’s strange that all the Chumbawamba comparisons are to other black men. Human nature, maybe. For a bit of balance, I’ll say he reminds me of Gavin McCann. 1 1 2 1
Popular Post Brumerican
It was now O'Clock when I found out Chuk is 17 years old . I just assumed "Youth Cup" was an U23 type of thing and that Carney was in the 19 -20 range . But reading @OutByEaster? comment about it being an U18 team I googled ... 17 ? 17 ? 4

useless
I didn't say that Toure didn't have any attacking ability because obviously he did, but it was in a different way to how Chukwuemeke plays, when attacking Chukwuemeka is someone who likes to dribble past players and run with the ball, use trickery, and link up with players in the attacking third using quick passing movements. To be honest I can't really think of many midfielders like him, he's like an hybrid of Viera and Grealish, can also see where people are coming from with the Pogba comparisons, and he's said himself that he tries to play like him. When it comes down it though he's essentially his own player, and pretty much good at everything, so whichever footballer he's compared to there's going to be an element of truth to it.

Lazy comparisons are going to be flooding in and should be treated with the spirit they are intended. It seems to me he's being compared to some damn fine players right now and that's the only thing we should be focusing on .
OutByEaster? Posted May 24, 2021 Moderator Share Posted May 24, 2021 I think five of this team is young enough to take part in next years FA Youth cup.
