Really rated Mussachio a few years back at Villareal. Then did o.k at Milan but picked up loads of injuries (had no idea he was at Lazio).

Might not be the worst shout to replace Engels given he's still only 30.

He was pretty shit in Milan, they were happy to get rid of him

Man Utd linked to Camanvinga and supposedly only £30m, seems very cheap for someone so highly regarded. French international at 18.

Refuses to sign a new contract and only has 1 year left. Seems odd if PSG are not in for him but I guess they have other priorities.

Some random transfers for the 'players you forgot existed' thread.

Britt Assombalonga has gone to Turkish football, joining Adana Demirspor. Leaving Turkey are Benik Afobe (from Trabzonspor to Millwall on loan) and Lukas Podolski (Antalyaspor to Gornik Zabrze in Poland).

And a couple of promotion-back-to-Championship moves on frees, one being Mario Vrancic from Norwich to Stoke, and the other being Emiliano Marcondes (who scored one of the goals in the playoff final) going from Brentford to Bournemouth.

Gilmour to Norwich on loan confirmed. Good for both parties

Norwich seem to still think they are in the Championship in selling their best player to us and bringing in a lad on loan for the season.

Where is their ambition? Lets be avin you.

Not sure how they played him but I would lazily guess as an outsider looking in that he replaces Skipp who's gone back to Spurs and that he's an upgrade

They got raschica to replace buendia

Agree in general though they're not particularly ambitious, puuki didn't do enough last time so not sure why they think he'll be enough this time

Signed Rashica who was hyped on here as world class and about to sign Ajer too.

Thanks for that. Just seen that I'm a bit late as it's already in the La Liga thread. There's talk of letting Coutinho leave if someone pays his wages. Can see him back in the PL.

That's their issue thou. He's on £400k/w, Griezman is on double that and the likes of Pjanic and Umtiti are on about £200k/w. They don't want to leave those contracts.

Yeah, and you can't blame the players.

Couldn't happen to a nicer club!

Yeah they could have a group that make bogarde blush, they'll never earn that kind of money anywhere else, maybe not even half of it

Why should they leave? Especially to mid table clubs, the big boys aren't going to touch them, coutinho would do well to get a move to us or Everton or West ham, maybe spurs are daft enough to go in for one of them pretending to be a competitive big boy

At best Liverpool might be tempted to get him as the replacement for shaqiri and his 20 sub appearances a season

Edit - eurosport reporting that pjanic and umtiti are in negotiations to terminate their contracts, mental

So Barcelona are signing players, paying them even though they can’t register or play them because they wage bill was already MILES too big.

Wow, that’s a whole new level of badly run.
Messi off the wage bill now too, but I assume they need to make enough headroom to get him back on it.

Coutinho to the PL on loan is a decent shout but probably only a drop in the ocean.

It might have been budget magic but on paper Pjanic cost about 67 million last summer

Presumably with staggeringly large payoffs that don't count towards the wage bill calculation? Otherwise I don't really get why the players would consider it.
