They are all good enough on there day. The problem we don't have enough who can play well week in week out.

Bit mote like the old slick Villa that was dominating teams early in the season ... should have won that more comfortably but Pickford with a couple of decent saves kept them in it .. Everton were poor for a team that not long ago had dreams of Champions league .

Next time I bemoan having Traore in our team , I shall just thank  my lucky stars we don’t have Iwobi instead .... Tbf Traore had some cracking skills today but he needs to do a bit more with his all round contribution to be deemed worthy of a starting place next season ... likewise El Ghazi to be honest.

gave MOTM to Barkley as to be honest I thought he was done at the club , today he put a shift in and showed he cared.

We kept the ball better, the passing was fast and crisp and our decision making was a whole lot better. Plenty of good movement off the ball and we closed them down with energy and aggression! Weirdly completely different to so many of our games recently.

El Ghazi what a load of shit , shouldn’t be picked and if he is should be taken off at half time, I know it’s true saw it on the pre and match thread. Or perhaps we could accept that the players we have may not be world class but are definitely talented enough to play in a team that is trying to move themselves up the hierarchy, it takes time and you need players to help move the team from one level to the next even if it isn’t the highest level you are aspiring for. El Ghazi, Trezeguet, etc are those type of players. We should be thankful for their efforts.

Great result , energy and performance. DS too late with his subs, Luiz should have been taken off with at least 30 mins to go and Traore was starting to flag but played well.

That aside it’s quite clear that the MOM was Pickford and the woodwork...

Yeh he faded out the game but I think he was picking the ball up and moving it around well all game. It created space for other. You need someone with the confidence to keep it ticking over in a tight situations and I think he did that well today. He wasn’t amazing, but you could see his quality.

Great win-unbeaten in the last 3 versus the toffees?  Yes you can say El Ghazi has limitations but he has scored some important goals for us and is a good lad.

This won't mean a lot in the grand scheme of things but its great to get 3 points again and puts us in a solid position for a top 10 finish, which would be  a very good season.

Best we have played for months this evening.  That's much more like it.  At 75 minutes I was even at the point where if we'd lost I would have been happier than for a while because at least we'd played well and looked decent.  Great finish for the winner.

Deserved. I was shouting so much at Traore for his laziness and lethargy but his pass let El Ghazimake that strike.

When our wide players play like that we look a top 8 side easy, they both were quality tonight just behind Ollie who set the tone...

There's nothing better than 3 points, other than 3 points and a great performance.. UTFV

Martinez - looked a little wobbly in the first half at times but made some key saves.

Cash - excellent attacking performance. That cross that we somehow didn't score from was world class.

Konsa - bit off colour again

Mings - a couple of moments where he's made a small error, but the better of the centre halves

Targett - once again, excellent.

Luiz - off the boil a little. Not a bad game but equally he wasn't dictating things either.

McGinn - some brilliant passes. Some awful ones. A couple of shots. His energy and effort is basically the big boon to his game at the moment.

Barkley - fair play, he was decent, particularly in the first half. Hit the post. Waned badly though. He's not consistently at this level enough to justify buying him.

Traore - some filthy skill and vital pass for the winner, but again the game drifted past him way too much.

Watkins - gets the early opener through pure persistence and basically WAS our attack for most of the game. He really should have had 2, if not 3.

AEG - couldn't get into the match for much of it. But holy shit the winner. World class. Brilliant.

Ramsey - got on the pitch.

Davis - touched the ball twice.

That might be, but he constantly showed up for the ball and also got stuck in, more than ever before.
