Barkley added that bit of quality that’s been missing lately. There was also a lot more energy from the team. We won the physical battle and got on top from there. 
 

Well done to El Ghazi. I’ve been his biggest critic lately but that was a solid performance with a cracking winner.

Every time I finally sell out, they do something like that.

Overall a great performance, I still get vibes McGinn might eventually be the weakest link.

I'm baffled as to where those performances have been, as we are obviously capable.

Dean proved me wrong tonight and i'm happy he did.

I did get angsty towards the end with no changes but hard not to be pleased!

Cracking match between two closely matched teams.

Think a lot of us were begging Deano to make a change, but he called it right. Their subs disrupted their shape, and our players looked fit. Great linkup between Luiz, Traore and AEG - probably 3 players you’d be thinking about subbing off - for the winner.

My MOTM was Watkins, but I thought a lot of our players had good games. Barkley and McGinn both look fresh again, like they’ve kicked the long Covid (or whatever it was that was bothering them).

Our back 4 were excellent.

Also I stand by my belief that the Grealish injury is a blessing in disguise. Has forced our squad to step up and take responsibility. Throw him back into this side, and we’ll be class.
