Worst result in a long time, can't be a coincident that we constantly struggle against the division's weaker teams, when it happens this many times it has to be something more than just 'one of those days', there's either something wrong with the tactics, or the players are over confident and on some level think they've already won before the game has even begun.

A reality check for those that think we will be anywhere near Europe come the end of the season, will be doing well to stay in the top half of the division

Something just didn't seem right with the players from minute 1.

They were all so sloppy in possession. Lacking urgency.

Sheffield United had to score for them to wake up.

My biggest gripe is that Jack is the only one who cuts the ball back. There was so much space for someone to run on to balls played backwards towards the edge of the box.

Embarrassing ... 

Very sporting of us to bring on Barkley to make it 10 a side though .

We aren’t playing terribly but thats about 4 games in a row now where we haven’t been very good attack wise , Arsenal , Brighton, Leeds ... and now tonight 

let’s hope we can address this in the coming weeks ...

Traore, bless him,  was absolutely infuriating today. The only person on the pitch who made more bad decisions than the referee.

As cynical as the Jagielka foul was it's still a yellow all day long.

Elmo = a waste of a position tonight refused point blank under any circumstances whar so ever to move the ball forwards.  With an empty pitch in front of him. Crossing terrible positional terrible and was at fault for their goal. Shocking performance if you can even call it that.

Traore tonight trying to showboat wasted so many chances or opportunity for us to continue an attack again cost us.

Smith ? Playing against 10 men where we need quick attacking play brings on Ross hangs on to the ball 10 seconds longer than he should barkley. Brilliant.

 

Sanson and luiz should have been the players coming on for nakamba and Ramsey. 

3 points literally chucked in the gutter thanks to rubbish play from a couple players and clueless management tonight.

I'm a big Smith fan but dear god, stop this rubbish of putting barkley in the team. He isn't fit or has some big issue with actually working for the team.

And maybe try the youth right back because elmo is now past it, can't even go forwards against literally no player.

Pass it backwards and cross it to the backpost. Repeat. 

Not single player beating the press/defensive lines by either carrying the ball or passing. 

We didn't even overlap and put a hard cross into the box even though they sat back with a very narrow formation.

Knew when they went to 10 it was over. They just bunkered in and let us lump at them, no need to go forward and leave space. Terrible passing today almost across the park, how many overhit crosses or balls rolled out of play or sent straight to the feet of a United player?

Ref continued his terrible first half form through to the end.

Check the stats for how many sloppy passes or crosses that went straight to ramsdale
