He still wasn’t happy with something but the freekick had already been taken. Can’t even blame Var for this one. Just shocking refereeing by Mason.

If you wasn’t happy why blow the whistle in the first instance 🤦‍♂️🥴🤣🤣🥴🥴

Its no goal, 1st whistle was a whistle test, Dunk should have been sent off for shooting, stupid players, fans not much better to be honest. Just let the professionals do their job, lee Mason for president, bravo.

The real winner here is football

Stockley Park currently going hell for leather through every rule book they can find to prove that one was exactly correct.

you almost feel sorry for the VAR who have to fix yet another refereeing calamity by figuring out if the ball had crossed the line before the 2nd whistle blew. the fact that the 2nd whistle was blown for no reason whatsoever will just be glossed over and forgotten in a couple of weeks

If you watch it back he blew the whistle three times for the retake 😎🤦‍♂️🤣

The referee may, at their sole discretion, use their whistle for no purpose other than performing a jaunty little tune.

Just to clear it up

When he blew the whistle for the second time this is a new passage of play that voids the first whistle so no goal, correct decision

i agree it's the correct decision in the end. the first whistle when johnstone was stood on the post lining up his wall is the calamity though.

in hindsight, it was actually quite quick thinking to blow again. otherwise he'd have been in a tricky position as the goal would have to have stood

Yes, rule 237 although more commonly known as Whittakers law.

But he blew AFTER the ball was in the net.
