I agree, just it’s an understandable train of thought! On paper it is possible we get next to nothing regardless of how well we play with a little misfortune.

I would be asking questions of the manager if that happened tbh as would the owners. No good playing flat out up to xmas if you're just going to throw it all away last three months of the season barely winning a game.

We really need to learn to pace ourselves better over a 40 game season. Been a massive problem over last 20 years when we've had decent teams. Weren't in europe and barely had any cup games aswell which should've helped us aswell.

I think this sums it up perfectly John

It was looking so good. We need another of this teams 10 game miracle runs to get us back in it now.

We couldn't .........could we?! 😎

Spurs win against Newcastle they go 4th, it sort of mskes the dramatic OTT crying about losing them in the last 2 weeks look pathetic

The criticism wasn't because we list, it was because of the abject performance with zero attacking creativity, against a team that were there for the taking.

Thats fair enough criticism but was more than one poster saying we were losing the easy games which our run included Leicester and Spurs 😂

I agree that is stupid. If we'd put a performance in fair enough, it was just nothingness for 90 mins.

But we were the better team for the start of that game we just had no creativity at all.  As they scored against the run of play it was over, we lost confidence and Spurs gained in confidence and the game was dead.

With Jack out, Barkley so out of form he doesn’t start and Traore out of form we are a bit screwed because the other players aren’t creators.  So we were attacking Spurs with a blunt instrument.  We desperately need Jack back and hopefully he starts today.

That spurs team that were there for the taking, still had better players on the pitch and better players on the bench.

But because they had a few bad results previously, it automatically meant we should beat them.

It was always the problem, we couldn’t take advantage early on even though we were on top because we didn’t have the creativity at the moment but we tried but then they scored against the run of the grain and as you say their better players then took over.

Football doesnt work like that though does it. A team with better players will not automatically win a game of football. It was an opportinity for us whilst they seemed to be having dressing room problems to get a result. We didnt turn up at all, zero creativity. So fans critised the performance.

Of course, although I'd say most of the time, the team with the better players win the game. Especially teams that have the kind of strength in depth that spurs have over us.

It was an opportunity, that's very different to they're there for the taking. And the performance deserved criticism but it also needs to be acknowledged when we're having to rely on the likes of El Ghazi and Trez as creative options and only have Davis on the bench.

The performance was poor but without Jack and with Barkley out of form, our creative options are barely premier league level at times.

At this stage, we've really got no right to be complaining about not beating Spurs, even with their injuries.
