I won't say I'm writing wesley off but I think he did sulk a lot and go missing at times.....i say that only when i see Watkins' non stop attitude even when it aint going well for him.

You might say "English player, used to english conditions" but i don't know...hope he comes good

Thing with Wesley is when he went down people were also writing Luiz, Trezeguet, Konsa and Targett off at the same time. All have come good this season but is no guarantee but is a chance Wesley might have come good too.

Funny enough his best game for us was the game he got injured against the most physical team in the league

Only one game but if I remember correctly they couldn’t handle him.  We’ll never know how things could have gone for him.

21 year old striker Luke Jephcott of Plymouth is impressing this season.

Currently top scorer in League 1 with 14 goals.

Scored 7 in 14 games last season for Plymouth after returning from successful loan spell at Truro City.

Pretty much agree with this. I'd add a defensive midfielder as an important position to improve too. I'd basically like us to replace Nakamba with a very good specialist defensive midfielder. If we do this it'll cost a lot of money but will free our attacking players up to concentrate more on attacking than constantly needing to track back.

1,000%

and the attacking players will improve...spot on.

Chris are there any solid, durable, combative young up an coming defensive midfielders around?

Boubakary Soumaré and Teun Koopmeiners would both fit with the profile of players we've been signing.

Soumaré I really like but he might be out of our reach as bigger fish are out for him and I've only seen Koopermeiners maybe once or twice and all I know is that's he's great at penalties and that a few on here seem to rate him.

I'd be hesitant about going for fringe players from big clubs who have not played regular football unless they are young ones.

Don't watch as much football as I used to so I'm sure there are loads of players out there that might be suitable options

I think we should sign Soumare and Jonathan Bamba in a double deal. For one they are teammates which would help with the transition for both of them. They both fill positions of need LW (Bamba can also play rw and CF so is versatile and gives us more cover in case watkins or traore gets injured) and ball playing DM.

Aside from that as others have said we need back up across the defensive like and maybe upgrades on trez and el ghazi. So if we sold both of them we should sign one player who can cover LW, RW and CAM with those funds. That way our depth chart would look like:

Martinez/Steer/Youth Keeper (Onodi looked really good and we supposedly have 2 other really highly rated ones out on loan)

Cash/New RB ideally 20-22

Mings/Konsa/Hause/New CB either experienced or Youth

Targett/New Lb

Luiz/Sanson/Mcginn/Soumare/Youth Prospect from lower league club

Grealish/Sanson

Traore/Bamba/Versatile Winger

Watkins/Wesley

That is a squad of 21 so we should probably sign another midfielder, and another winger.

Loan out Davis, Ramsey and most of our youth players.

Sell: Nakamba, Guilbert, Trez, El Ghazi, Heaton recoup about 50 mil in fees and use that to finance more signings.

In lower leagues : 22 year old ex Everton youngster Chris Merrie who plays for Wigan is a good player.

I doubt we’re getting anywhere near 50 million for these players.

We paid 9 mil for Nakamba - we will get at least that back.

El Ghazi scored 5 in 6 in the prem. He is a 10-15mil winger. Same with trez.

Heaton worth 5-10

Guilbert 5-10 as well.

I'd reckon we get at least 40 mil probably close to 45 mil.

If we get 10m for either of these 2 I’ll donate £20 to VT.

Covid economy means we will get much less for our outgoing players, but it also means there will be bargains to be had.

Only way we'll get anywhere close to those numbers is if another PL-side is interested. And even then it will be on the lowest scale.

We won't sell them for less than that. Especially in trez's case as it will mean a loss.

You think we’ve never took a loss before. Sometimes you cut your losses and get players off the wage bill. I reckon Trez got more of a chance of sticking around then El Ghazi. I reckon if a bid around 6-8m came in for El Ghazi and he wanted to leave, he would.

Conor's contract expires in June so we're getting **** all for him. That aside, I feel like a lot of your sell prices are high and the buy prices are low.

Transfermarkt has his contract ending in 2022 and the prices are the ones quoted in the media.

I would have has Soumare on my football manager type list but the reality is he is too expensive, I have seen media reports of 50m last month which is way out of our league.
