Certain players just don't get injured. It's not in their genetic makeup.

Ollie seem to be one of those. He has zero injury history and that'n no fluke.

Maybe. Or maybe he was lucky.

You never know how much each factor attributes to those things.

Chelsea seem keen on using Tammy to get Rice.

The player, not the cereal grain.

Might be a grain of truth in it but probably should be taken with a pinch of salt. And then turn off the heat when the water starts boiling.

Sauce?

Yeah there's definitely an element of this with muscle injuries and things related to posture, weak joints, etc.

But the really nasty collision injuries - leg breaks, skull fractures, etc - are just pure bad luck, and can happen to anyone. If Ben Mee comes flying into Ollie like he did to Wesley, I imagine it would be a pretty similar outcome.

So yes, we definitely need cover for Watkins, despite his excellent fitness record to date.

Very excited to see our moves.

I think ordinarily we would be more likely to go for younger players with potential instead of ready-made like we did last season.

The key thing here is Jack. We have in our ranks one of the best players in the world and flitting up and down the middle of the table isn't something that'll be in his plans. If we don't push hard now, he won't stick around I don't think. The club must know this. There's no replacing him when he goes, so we attack now.

If we bring in another 4 or 5 of the quality we did last summer, we have a hell of a season to look forward to.

Yeah some players do go without injury for a long time, he's young and as with him gaining experience I'm sure he will pick one or two knocks up in his career. For a fit player like him that does all the running around as he does you can see something like shin splints, tore muscle occuring if he does ever pick an injury up, yet I am no doctor so take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Unbreakable is an excellent film and so to are the other two films in the series (Split-2nd film) (Glass- 3rd film), I thoroughly enjoyed them would love them to do more.

Watkins does come across at the moment as the type to pull through anything unscaved.

We're always going to be a team next season where if we lose one of our best players we'll struggle if Jack, Ollie, Mings etc.. get injured for a long period we'll struggle to different degree.

Your option is to write off Wesley, sign Tammy would mean that Wesley will get no game time. We then need to sell Wesley for a big loss (if we can) which we need to add to the cost of signing Tammy as that's the net total of the transfer. It doesn't make sense for us at this time.

On the balance of things the only way the Tammy transfer makes any sense is a formation change and that seems highly unlikely as we would have to reshape the whole midfield. We would have added defensive responsibilities for the wingers which would blunt Jack and Traore for different reasons and with 2 CM we would struggle from the pool we have atm. So we'd need to make multiple new signings along with Tammy to rework a 4 4 2

For me and in my opinion the club this just doesn't make sense.

Wesley hasn't had the chance to prove himself the way Konsa, Targett, Luiz have with the time they've been given to show vast improvement. He deserves the chance especially given the freakish fitness levels of Watkins.

Im not writing wesley off- just being realistic. He has been out almost 18 months that is a hell of a long time for him to get back to fitness

Its a major gamble in my opinion

Id wager a decent amount that many Liverpool fans would snap your arm off if offered Ollie Watkins as a replacement for Firminho. Jota is not a specialist CF, he was brought in initially as cover for Mane as a wide forward. I’ve a couple of mates who are Liverpool fans who would love Watkins as CF in place of Firminho. A CF who works his nuts off AND scores goals were their exact words. Why on gods earth would we push Watkins out wide to accommodate a player not as good as Watkins at CF?! Not many top teams have two top notch CFs, not when most are playing with just one. Spurs have Kane and then it’s a big drop off, Liverpool have Firminho and then a big drop off to Origi, Man City have had Aguero (you might argue Jesus, but he’s only really played with agueros career at city coming to a close....... and city often playing without a recognised CF), Man Utd have had to sign a 34yr old CF to get them through a period of time, Leicester will have to replace an ageing Vardy (though I rate Iheanacho), Chelsea have often reverted to an ageing Giroud at CF (preferred often to Abraham), Arsenal struggling to accommodate Aubamayang and Lacazette, to the point that they play their now highest salary earner out wide and out of position.....with a poor goals return.
Ollie Watkins has proven to be a fantastic signing at CF, proven himself the entirety of the season thus far. We’d be utterly mad to move him out of position for a former loaned player that some fans have a schoolgirl crush on.

Well said i agree completely, we moan when he doesn’t score but thats just fans being fickle as ever, he works hard and knows where the net is yes he might not be as clinical as Lewandowski or lukaku at present but hes more than reliable

Imagine this squad, I believe Sanson will eventually start adjusting and become more efficient than Mcginn imo  ... Traore not consistent enough .. so both mcginn and traore can resort to our bench .. no room for sentiment here. i cant be too specific with the positioning of players on here so bear that in mind but just too giving a general idea

                           Martinez

   Cash         Konsa        Mings       Targett

                             Luiz

 New Rw      Sanson      Alli          Grealish

                          Watkins

Yeah, that's a move that makes sense for both.

Wonder what West Ham could get out of it? £20m+Tammy? Tricky to pRice it up.

Tammy wants to be careful though. Rice cannot be replaced easily and West Ham will be much weaker without him.

Pretty sure you would need 40 plus Tammy to get rice
