VillaFaninLondon Posted August 31, 2021 Share Posted August 31, 2021 (edited) Comparing our squad to last season's: GK: weaker - haven't replaced Heaton (an experienced PL stopper that's played for England), Steer now no2 it seems, whose level is League 1 or Championship at best DF: a bit stronger - Tuanzebe is slightly better than Engels and Young is better than Taylor but neither signing is really wow in that area MF: a bit weaker - Bailey and Buendia are strong signings but losing Grealish is a big blow. Not signing a CM is ridiculous given our issues there last season. ST: stronger - definitely stronger with both Ings and Watkins as options. Loaning out Wesley instead of Davis (who unfortunately got injured) I'm not sure about. So overall I'm really not sure how much stronger our squad is than last season.
