Sulberto21 Posted July 19, 2021 Share Posted July 19, 2021 Dean Smith traditionally goes for a 6 and two 8's. The two 8's usually press with the front 3 and the back line with the 6 cover the spaces. Don't be surprised if Luiz McGinn and Sanson are our starting midfield. Harry Souttar I think would be a good addition at CB to develop and for cover. I think we'll also bring in another CB and that will be it. Young and Guilbert cover the FB positions and offer cover wide. Young is also a dead ball specialist which offers another option we've missed. Unless one of Dougie or Nakamba go I cant see us bringing in another CM/DCM this year. We have very rich owners but just came out of Championship 2 seasons ago and FFP exists. I don’t see it as an either or. I accept that such a player may be hard to find/get but that should be our aim. It does sound like Buendia will bring hard work and aggression to the midfield so he may solve the problem to some extent. What I think we need though is someone commanding who dominates the middle of the pitch. I’m thinking of a Patrick Vieira type.
