In all honestly we didn't deserve to win that , but that's football.

We've lost and drawn many a time when we deserved  to win.

Southampton are a VERY good team.

Deano genuinely worries me with the subs, but we still won I guess.

McGinn very poor today.

We probably owe Southampton an apology. This was a mugging.

We didn't play particularly well, we were tactically naive, we didn't deserve it, we've got three points - 'bout time!

I thought the back five were all excellent, Doug Luiz was very good in front of them, McGinn was quiet but had a good last ten or fifteen minutes, Barkley was played out of position, it was a poor midfield performance from him, but strikers are judged on their goals - expect Watkins of course, who was excellent without a goal. Grealish was brilliant, Traore less so - overall, we worked really hard and we've come away with the points.

Romelu ran the game for Southampton, they'll be baffled. 

Stuff to work on, but we did voodoo on the hoodoo, I'll take it.

Some desperate stuff at times and for once we were very lucky with VAR. Martinez heroic. Lovely to nick it.

Feels like DS was actively trying to lose the game by not making subs.  More than couple of players played so badly they should have come off, and many more dead on their feet.

Brilliant three points tonight away against a decent team, we got lucky with a couple of big decisions but about time we had a bit of luck.

More wins this season than what we got last season, Jack was class again. Wouldn't mind Dean resting John McGinn as he seems a bit off form at the moment.

played really well on Weds and got zero points , played shit tonight and got 3 ... go figure

Smith nearly cost us tonight , we needed 2 or 3 subs brought on in that second half

Martinez MOTM , other than Targett everyone else was really average tonight.

McGinn was really poor tonight , he needs to release that ball when he wins it and has someone breathing down his neck ..Luiz not much better , hope Sanson hits the ground running as I think we will need him soon 

 

nice to have a decent ref who let the game go on the whole ,for a change

I never know when rating the referee performance is i'm rating the ref on the pitch or VAR.

Ref was fine, but i'd be angry with VAR if i was a southampton fan.
