Fairly sure he played a fair few times the previous season but was displaced by Spink at start of 93/94. When we were on the attack, you’d see him hanging off the bar, or doing stretch’s outside the box. He was indifferent and said he wanted to keep practicing and improving because he wanted to be “unbeatable” he wasn’t even joking he wanted to be and at some level thought he could be unbeatable. I’ve never forgotten it. That in a sentence was Bozzie, ego the size of a truck but talent to match it and a level of dedication and personal drive that many overlooked because of the smile, accent and seeming laid back attitude. I loved him then, and it’s not until the years and keepers roll past you realise how lucky I was to see him play for us. One of my earliest Villa memories is a Bozzie wonder save he had no right saving. Can’t remember who or when, but distinctly remember him making the save. She asked why, as I jumped out and had a brief conversation with Bozzie who was just meandering along. My daughter then (14 months old) loved waving at him as he always responded. Lovely gent. Sadly he lost that post Villa but for Villa boy what a keeper he was. United was a very serious dressing room at the time. Plus, he had the unenviable task of replacing Schmichael. I mean, it was like a death in the family for United fans when he left. Bosnich was going to be held to the exact same standards as Schmichael with everything he did. Which was extremely high.
