leviramsey Posted August 19, 2010 VT Supporter Share Posted August 19, 2010 What about this £30-40m they were going to spend? That's the budget for Carson's fur coats
Reality
You wouldn't trust that man with road directions. As big a con artist as you're likely to see.
TrentVilla Posted August 19, 2010 Moderator Share Posted August 19, 2010 They still have given McLeish a new contract either despite on going talks since they arrived, I can see him leaving for a better job before the start of next season. Demitri_C
he plays very negative so i doubt we would go for him. one thing i would say about mccleish he has a broader international scouting network than what mon did. also good at making subs. he is too good for them. i think he will sign a new deal but then get them midtable and realise thats as far as they can go. i think he should go somewhere like newcastle. bigger club and can get them up to europa with a good coach

A bigger club with better players may see a move away from that. I like McCleish, i think hes a class act.

I wouldnt say No to him as Villa manager. As said he is actually a classy guy just a pity about who he manages. Only person at that club I respect
wiganvillain
I ask because his first managerial Job was my home town club (Motherwell) and he did an excellent job there without being negative and even upset the "Ols Firm" As Zatman and CNT say he's actually decent bloke led astray by the porno kings when told to put a 1 in front of his Scotland managers salary

Only person at that club I respect I certainly wasn't suggesting him as a Villa candidate. I do though think depending on how they get on this season he will get a job offer or at least someone looking at him and I also think he will soon get sick of Small Heath's owner. I think he would be a perfect choice for Newcastle for instance whenever that role becomes free which I think it will at some stage this season. He does strike me as being a decent bloke and I think most Villa fans think the same which is why despite having been their a while nobody on here really dishes it out in his direction. The fact we actually call him by his name says a lot I think when you compare it to the various names we had for Mr Potatohead.
Zatman
I think he is too smart to go near Newcastle . I wouldnt be surprised if he goes abroad

Zatman
I don't think so Zatman. So few do I don't see him being one to buck the trend. He is more intelligent than most British managers and he has a good reputation in Europe from his time at Scotland and Rangers.

Have you done an IQ test on the managers? On what basis do you conclude he has a good reputation in Europe? Who has stated that and what big European jobs has he been linked with? These are just your opinions presented in such a way as to appear factual, they do nothing to change my view. I don't think he will manage abroad. From his interviews you can tell he is intelligent and ambitious. Doesnt have to be a big European job maybe a team in Germany or France he could do well for
TrentVilla Posted August 19, 2010 Moderator Share Posted August 19, 2010 So that is none so far then We will indeed see I guess. I have to say I would love to see the faces in a French or German dressing room when he starts talking, they wouldn't understand a single word. Reality
The sooner McLeish ditches those lot the better. I think he is a fairly loyal man though, with honesty and integrity. Too good for those lot. The fact they haven't given him a new contract speaks volumes. Bunch of small timers.
