Relegation chase 2020/21

Just noticed that last season going into the Palace home game, the 35th game of the season, we only had 27 points, just one more point than we have now after fourteen games. Need just three more wins to match last season's entire points total.

Crazy to think that if Sheffield United had beaten us in our first game, they could have not played another match since and still had more points than they do now.

Or, to put it another way, we earned more points from that match than they have managed all season.

Had completely forgotten Martinez saved a penalty at 0-0. They score that and not impossible they'd have beaten us even with 10 men and we might've been the ones struggling while that could've pushed them around Brighton and Burnley.

Time to get out of cloud cuckoo land and start winning again so we can get to the forty points mark as soon as possible.

We've won three and drawn two of our last six.

Do you mean get out of cloud cuckoo land and start losing again?

And during the previously traditional "Villa seasons greetings and form collapse" festive period.

This is a great season! No serious danger of relegation we can just enjoy the show1

This is the first season since MON's first, where there is no massive pressure now. Can just enjoy the ride this year.

After that 1st season with MON, we really wanted to break the top 4, then he left and there was always the threat of relegation, then we need promotion and last year to survive. Its bloody nice to experience this, especially with the football we play and the improvements we are making.

Just waiting for the moment when this thread can officially be moved to ‘Other Football’

I would say now was a good time.

We are 16 points ahead of Fulham and they have played a game more than us.

I think we have more chance of winning the league than we have being relegated.
