Wezbid
https://www.wrexhamafc.co.uk/news/sgm-names-of-potential-investors-released-following-vote Quote The Wrexham Supporters Trust Board would like to thank all members who took part in the Special General Meeting yesterday (Tuesday September 22) and took the time to vote. As confirmed this morning, 97.5% of voters (1,223 members) voted in favour of the Resolution. As a result, talks with the proposed bidders will now continue and we are in a position to confirm the two people interested in investing in Wrexham AFC. Rob McElhenney is an American actor, director, producer and screenwriter, best known as the creator of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Ryan Reynolds is an award-winning Canadian actor, writer, producer and business entrepreneur whose credits include Marvel’s Deadpool. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54274142 Quote Speaking before the names were confirmed, Trust director Spencer Harris said a vote from fans on the outline of the deal would be expected "in weeks rather than months". "All we're going to commit to - because we're not going to put pressure on ourselves - is that we will conclude the discussions as soon as possible," Harris told BBC Wales. "We will get to a position when the potential investors put forward a deal and the next stage… we would put that in front of the members for a vote if they wish to proceed with that deal or not." Approval from the members to the deal would see the Trust relinquish control of the running of the club. As a Wrexham lad, I've grown up supporting The Robins/Dragons/Reds. Villa have also always been there just as long but Wrexham have always come first. It's been an absolute grind for nearly 2 decades now but then this news breaks. I honestly can't believe it. 2 world known stars, absolutely loaded but both also hilarious and down to earth too. Hopefully one day we could see Wrexham vs Villa in the Prem. I couldn't cope. Trying not to get too excited but this is mental. If our fans vote this down I will kill!

Brian Carey put out a weakened side and was ripped for it. I love Villa but it was painful being destroyed like that, could have been more. I also remember a pre-season friendly before this, think Dwight Yorke scored 2 and finished 2-2, could be wrong though, I was a teen and discovering boobs and stuff.

VT Supporter Genie Posted September 24, 2020 VT Supporter Share Posted September 24, 2020 Won’t happen, and even if it does it’ll end up as a huge disaster when these Hollywood stars get bored and go home (with all their money).
LondonLax
It seems like a bit of a stupid time to invest in a sports team. Wait until the pandemic is over and fans can actually buy tickets to watch games before throwing a bunch of your money in.

These guys are fairly wealthy but there is no indication really how much they want it blow on a football team. They know nothing about the sport or the country. It will be a disaster.
