Bertrand came through the Chelsea Academy (scouted at like 14/15) whereas Rashica just went through his local team in Kosova. Both end up playing a lot of games in the Eredivisie. Bertrand plays 66 games and scores 25 goals, Rashica plays 83 games and scores just 13 goals. Both leave the Eredivisie, Bertrand for Ligue 1, Rashica for the Bundesliga. Bertrand has played 87 games and scored 21 goals, Rashica has played 63 games and scored 18 goals. Yes you’d think that gives Rashica the edge but Bertrand played for CL semi finalists, Rashica Played for a relegation threatened club in the Bundesliga, which means that Bertrand had players like Memphis Depay and Moussa Dembele as competition.....whereas Rashica had......erm....who to worry about. All I’m saying is that it’s crazy how a blog can go wild for one but goes cold against the other when Bertrand’s record edges that of Rashica. Really interesting point there. Easy to get carried away in both directions, perhaps depends on how the tone is set at the beginning of the thread, someone is overly positive and we get all enthusiastic or someone being overly negative and we get all critical. It's like one of those mobs in the Simpsons!

It's like one of those mobs in the Simpsons! I think it might be a belief that one is on the up and one is on the way down. But roll the clock back 12 months, everyone would be creaming over Bertrand and people should be saying ‘don’t be daft’ if Rashica was mentioned as an alternative.
M_Afro
Anybody still think we don’t need this guy? Did AEG beat his league 1 counterpart once? Nope!!! 3
Vive_La_Villa
This guy created 26 chances in 23 games and only started 14 of them. That doesn’t sound too bad.

useless
Rashica's played more games on the right in his career than he has on the left, I think if he signs he and Grealish will both start on the wings and will interchange.

Crikey I’m glad you said this but it’s mind blowingly silly that whilst a player can play ‘anywhere across the back three’ people don’t recognise the difference between playing LW or RW or through the middle. Well we ain’t gonna sign Rashica on that basis......given we’re about to sign Bertrand who is a RW specialist. ie it Won’t be Bertrand RW, Jack on the LW and Rashica through the middle. useless
We don't have to squeeze everyone we sign into the first eleven, we're allowed to have good players on the bench as well. I expect us to sign a top central midfielder, to play alongside Luiz and McGinn. Edited September 15, 2020 by useless

The other thing I’d like to add is that Bertrand seems to be happy to join us despite his better pedigree.....but Rashica still believes he can do better than us.

Farlz
I no longer care if this lad is a bit inconsistent, as long as he's quick and direct I'm very much all for this
