villaglint Posted September 13, 2020 Share Posted September 13, 2020 Never seen him play. YT videos make him look quick, tricky and tall which is all good so hopefully an upgrade on Trez, AEG. Looks like he’s had two decent seasons and one stinker for Lyon. Obviously the hate from fans is a bit concerning. Fingers crossed a change of scene and a bit of belief from the manager helps him. I don’t get it. I know we’re now stuck in an endless cyclical argument of, ‘well, if the recruitment team want him then so be it’ vs. ‘He’s shit’, but every signing we make where opposition fans are happy to get rid, doesn’t work out. All the warning signs are there with this one. If we sign him, I’ll back him, but I really can’t see him doing well for us and he doesn’t fit the mould of a Smith player at all. Very surprised. It looks to be a huge gamble when I thought we’d moved away from this model. Hoping it isn’t true (sorry). Yeah it can happen to anyone, often the pace of the ball/pass isn’t taken into account which makes it difficult. Still...funny to see! I’ve no idea on Traore btw If there are any questions about his ability & character then I don’t think we’d be interested as Deano has clearly outlined the kinds of players he wants to bring in. I havent seen the guy play for a long time, thought he was promising at Chelsea and Ajax though. Either way, its much needed pace and another attacking option to beef the squad up with. Our bench should look a lot stronger this season; when you looked at our bench last year its incredible we actually managed to survive- it looked midtable championship at best!
