Wow great to see the privileged get better treatment…

Nice try but it is not about giving privileged better treatment it is about trying to get a policy in place to allow international football games take place. The chip on your shoulder must weight you down a lot

I don't think this is anything to do with privilege. Elite athletes are tested on a regular basis, and are restricted to 'bubbles' for purposes such as this, that Karen from Bolton isn't. Hence why logical exceptions can be made.

If everyone had the same level of testing and could only operate in bubbles too, then we'd have a like-for-like comparison.

But Karen can take tests that she has to update to an NHS portal and sit with her sister in Bolton for 5 days too - there is no need for Karen to book a £2k hotel.

It's not that footballers shouldn't be allowed to travel - it's just that Karen is fuc*** by the stupid system, and in this situation, footballers are privileged over regular John's and Karen's.

Of course they are. Boo-hoo, what's new?

It isn't hard to think of ways in which footballers are more privileged than you or me. (Or Karen).

Some people need to wise up and realize the world isn't fair, and built this way by design. Football in general is no different. Even when people's lives are potentially at stake, the rules get bent and broken to benefit the few over the many.

Anyone bemoaning that fact should probably find another hobby tbqh. And potentially a private archipelago somewhere

Yeah, just because you can kick a football well means you can travel more freely...

BUT, the solution should be to relax travel for others too, not to restrict footballers.

Not really. It's an exception, it's not because they are more priveleged but it keeps PL clubs happy which is a good look for the government.

Plus they have to stay within the footballing bubble in the other country and stay within the clubs bubble in the uk. It's not the same as anyone else travelling to another country.

Yeah but they are also staying in a bubble abroad as well. Not at all close to the same. And is a false equivalency.
