OutByEaster? Posted September 9, 2020 Moderator Posted September 9, 2020 Interesting that they're not just numbered 1-11. I'm presuming that all of these boys now have a genuine squad number. I wonder if they'll be on the back of the programme.
sparrow1988 Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Watching those highlights it really was boys against men. The difference in physical stature was striking. Still though good to see them getting a taste for it and a feel for how far they need to go in order to make it to league 1 even. It will hopefully focus their minds. 1
HanoiVillan Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Well that should certainly put paid to the idea to the idea that any of those players are remotely ready for the first team anyway. 1 1
TRO Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 There next lessons are. 1.How to play without the ball 2. How to defend aerial balls.
BOF Posted September 11, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 11, 2020 That was one ahem soft penalty award. Chuk certainly picking up the tricks. 1

BOF Posted September 14, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 14, 2020 Nice early (1pm) kick off today to start the league campaign at the Baggies 1
BOF Posted September 14, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 14, 2020 Not yet sure which Ramsey it is. EDIT : It's Aaron. 1
useless Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Interesting to see no Kesler or Bridge, and presumably no Jacob Ramsey, must be a good chance that they will be involved tomorrow. I'm guessing Barry must be injured. 2

Never seen his name before No Harrison is not particularly new but he did only have 2 matchday outings last season, one in the EFL Trophy and one in the PL Cup. I expect he featured more for the academy side. 1
BOF Posted September 14, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 14, 2020 Baggies average age is 20.2 compared to out 18.7, although in fairness to them most of that is courtesy of their goalkeeper, 27 year old Jonathan Bond.
BOF Posted September 14, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 14, 2020 Equaliser on 84 minutes! Philogene-Bidace.
BOF Posted September 14, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 14, 2020 Baggies penalty in the 91st. 2-1.
BOF Posted September 14, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 14, 2020 Well nuts to that. 2 late penalties put pay to our hopes. 3-1 defeat. Stats updated. At least there's a quick turnaround. We are home to Norwich on Friday at 7pm. Norwich finished 2nd bottom last season so fingers crossed we can do something against them as a reaction to this.
BOF Posted September 14, 2020 Author Moderator Posted September 14, 2020 'A special talent' - Aston Villa U23 player ratings as Philogene-Bidace and Chukmuewka shine despite defeat Quote 'A special talent' - Aston Villa U23 player ratings as Philogene-Bidace and Chukmuewka shine despite defeat Aston Villa were picked off by West Brom in their under-23 season-opener at Birmingham County FA HQ in Great Barr. Albion play-maker Zak Brown rifled home the opener past Viljami Sinisalo before Villa started a second-half revival. It took the substitute of Jaden Philogene-Bidace to spark Mark Delaney's men into action with the electrifying winger looking menacing after replacing Aaron Ramsey with half-hour to go. The teenager soon grabbed the equaliser after striker DJ Sturridge linked with the Carney Chukmueweka before the latter crashed a left-footed effort goalwards. Albion stopper Jonathan Bond fumbled and Philogene-Bidace mopped up to make it 1-1. More in the link (plus the usual AIDS your browser gets from clicking a Mail link) ... Excellent typo for Chukwuemeka too 1 1
