chrisp65
Storyville Circus I'm tired beyond belief, but I think even if I wasn't, tonight's Storyville on BBC 34, as a mix of pictures and soundtrack, well, it was just superb. Really uncomfortable at times. Entertaining, funny, sad and just gorgeous.
Popular Post chrisp65
Quote A stencil spray painting by elusive artist Banksy shredded itself after it was sold for more than £1m. The framed Girl With Balloon, one of the artist's best known works, was auctioned by Sotheby's in London. The piece which shows a girl reaching towards a heart-shaped balloon was the final work sold at the auction. However, moments after the piece went under the hammer, the canvas passed through a shredder that was hidden inside the frame. Posting a picture of the moment on Instagram, Banksy wrote: "Going, going, gone..." The 2006 piece sold for £1.042m on Friday night. "It appears we just got Banksy-ed," said Alex Branczik, Sotheby's senior director and head of contemporary art in Europe. Banksy even through all the onion layers of hype and promotion and even if Sotheby's and / or the buyer were in on it, still a neat trick

Popular Post Amsterdam_Neil_D
This is a small bookcase I painted for a girl at work, it's for her new 1st baby. These are at 99% completed. She doesn't know I have done this as I have been off work sick for 5 months. So too keep busy mainly & it might be good to do things for nothing also. Never tried to paint anything like this before. The fish are freaky I know but they are imagined I will deliver it to her later. She has no idea at all so let's see. The idea is that they keep it for life as its got their name on.
A'Villan
We need a poster done at work and I opened my big mouth and told them that I used to be a graffiti muralist and have done tattoo designs. 'Typography was my specialty' I said. They told me they would 'love' for me to be responsible for it and now I have landed myself the role. I haven't picked up a pencil in 5 or so years. At least I'll be remunerated and it's a bit of fun but surely going to be a bit rusty. Anyway, here's one I like from Schmetzer:
