useless
Feeney, Barber, Iroegbunam, Aaron Ramsey, Jacob Ramsey, and Archer have all had England call ups today across the various age groups. Feel like Kadan Young unlucky not to get any call ups recently either for U17s or U18s, it could be that he has but we blocked it, and for some reason the likes of Proctor, Triston Rowe, and Broggio haven't had a call up for a while now either, although Broggio was injured last time his age group had an international meet up, U17 squad is announced on Tuesday so will see if any of them get in. useless
Playing Brighton at home Wright, Barber, Katsukunya, Softely, Munroe, Timson, McDowell, Mitchell, Simpson Pavey, Pierre Subs: Hayward, Fortes, Briscoe, Patterson, Plunkett A strange line-up because of players being unavailable, four central defenders in the starting line-up, no strikers. Three U15s on the bench, Elijah Briscoe is a striker, Dante Plunkett is a left-back/winger, I've seen highlights of him looks a very good attacker and was already playing a couple of age up last season for the U16s, Rodrigo Fortes I think is a Brazillian midfielder, or dual qualified, I'm not sure who Hayward is as I don't think it's Vincent Hayward, maybe we have a goalkeeper by that name.

Lost 3-0 I thought it would be a tough game, Man City won the U16, U17, and U18 Premier League Cups last season as well as the U18 North title and then National Title, last England U16 game had five of their players in the starting eleven. Still got the U18 version to play for and Floodlit Cup, and possibly U16 PL National Finals if they can be rescheduled. useless
Zych captain for Poland U19s, Feeney, Barber, Iroegbunam, and Aaron Ramsey all got game time on internatinal duty yesterday. Ewan Simpson was an unused sub for Scotland U17s, Rory Wilson wasn't involved because of an injury. Thierry Katsukunya is with Wales U19s, they play a behind closed doors friendly against Scotland U19s today. 1

MWARLEY2
Looks like we might be starting to get a conveyor belt of talent at the younger age groups. Just had a look at who we have in attacking positions who are internationals at age level. Kellyman attacking mid 17 - Northern Ireland Rory Wilson striker 17 scotland Ben Broggio att mid 16 England Kadan Young wing 17 England Bradley Burrowes wing 15 England Vinnie Hayward forward 14 England Marky Meade forward 15 England ( record goalscorer at Erdington schools level with 96 in one season ) We are also taking Cole Brannigan in the summer from NI who is a winger / forward and will be 16 Lots and lots of talent up front for the next few years at FA youth cup level. 8 who are currently or recently representing their country . Bodes very well
useless
I think Markie Meade is still fourteen, a year younger than Cole Ramsey, but has constantly played a year or two up. International recognition in the lower age groups isn't the be all and end all either, obviously it's good when it happens and gives a good indication that those players are currently doing well, but those that don't get call ups can still go on to do really well within the academy, the likes of Kesler Hayden, Iroegbunam, Philogene, and Archer didn't get international call ups until they were established U21 players, in Archer's case he was even further along in his development having already played a lot of first team football. We've got a few like Luka Lynch and Alfie Lynskey who as far as I'm aware haven't had any international recogntion, but both played a couple of ages up whilst U15s for our U18s, and Lynch was a regular this season for our U18s as an U16, so club obviously rates those two very highly. 1

I think if we can get the ones who peak early to gain recognition through the better coaching plus continue to work on the others who come through at a later time then the academy is doing its job of raising standards. Turn the good into very good and turn the doing ok into doing well . Its as much as you can expect from any academy. And when we do get another potential superstar coming through we will be in a position to maximise that talent.
