Martin ******** O’Neil!!

What’s wrong with people?!?

Having said that I’m going to contradict myself and say I wouldn’t be totally against Big Sam! He gets a bad rep but he knows a player. Used to enjoy watching his Bolton team back in the day.

Plus he’s dodgy as ****! What’s the saying..nice guys always finish last. We need a ****. Not just any old **** though. One that knows what he’s doing.

The first reaction with Sam is the football, he don't appeal to the masses......but he don't get pissed about and is his own man.

a few of our would get a rocket up their rear.

I think the suggestion of Allerdyce would suit on the basis we have 8 or 9 games to go and a chance of survival.

Comes in with fresh eyes and gets enough out of the team to steer us to safety.

Golden handshake, he leaves, we're safe and we kick on from that in hiring a major coup of a manager.

I wouldn't have fireman Sam near the club otherwise.

I like the look of Marcelo Gallardo. Linked with Barcelona at the moment and he's been River Plates most successful manager ever. He's gonna go to a big european league at some point.

Not sure the Championship counts as a big European league.

I’m sure I had this guy in championship manager when I was a kid. He was class!

Would love us to find a great up and coming coach. We tried with Garde and it was a disaster. But that team was poison.

Mathematically it's not totally out of reach but when you look at the remaining fixtures it does make for interesting reading and I agree with you.

If Sam could do that and gain some points then there's no doubt we're in with of shout of survival.

If the current manager could get the same kind of reaction from the players then we would equally be in with a shout, but over the last few games I have seen nothing to suggest that could change anytime soon. He seems to have ran out of ideas.

When you look at ours and Watford's fixtures side by side there's not much difference between them in terms of difficulty. No chance of us bringing in Allardyce now though,  and I doubt he'd take the job unless we offered it him on a longer term basis, get relegated and it would cost him his reputation as a relegation specialist, given the circumstances, doubt he'd want to risk it.

Based on what? Which is better?

Depends on what you are judging it on I guess.

Is it average team quality, top clubs quality, bottom clubs quality... It's all guesswork anyway but I think it's extremely overrated a lot of times.

There is usually a few good teams in the Championship each season mainly due to rich owners or PL-parachute money. The average Championship side is mediocre.

Top teams in the Championship wouldn't even win the Swedish Allsvenskan most seasons and that league is ranked 21st in Europe.

I'd say the Championship is the best 2nd tier league along with 2nd Bundesliga.

Wouldn't want MON here at all ever again, MON doesnt finish things and runs out on everything soon as the going gets real tough,  left us in a right pickle in the end didnt he??

Make a play for Bielsa or Poch I say..

I'm not even sure the French top division is better on average.

  • Premier League
  • La Liga
  • Bundesliga
  • Serie A
  • Ligue 1
  • Premeira Liga
  • Eredivisie

Nah.

I said i'd take Big Sam as a short term solution. To save the season. None of these long term.

We've chosen the attacking football route and need to stick with it.
