So apparently an exit plan for football will mean games will only be played at select grounds to limit spread

They are making it up as its going along, I bet the top teams grounds will be selected

Plus surely if you have loads of teams playing at the same ground and a player gets tested positive then it's even worse as you would have to quarantine them all I'd have thought.

One of the mooted plans I saw was to effectively turn the rest of the season into what you'd expect from an international tournament - teams playing every few days at a limited number of venues.

Which is a crap idea, but hey, gotta finish that vitally important to global wellbeing sporting event at any cost, right?!

From South Korea, what a travesty.

South Korea is hoping to start its league already on May 8, but with severe restrictions.

So far, all matches will be played in front of empty stands and coaches, players and officials must wear face masks, the Korea Herald writes . The players are also prohibited from talking to their teammates as well as opponents and referees on the pitch.

All players in the league should now be tested before the season starts and if any of them later fall ill in covid-19, the entire team concerned will be isolated for two weeks. Should a player show symptoms, he gets a game ban while the team is allowed to continue playing.

Frankly I'm a bit surprised the players are allowed to sweat.

Sign language for "man on" then!

Charades would work for you need glasses ref!

Joke decision impossible to play without communication.

II think the main issue with the football bodies except for the arrogance is that they have no plan. They have not consulted any medical or scientific or even political opinion. Just saying Behind Closed Doors is not an answer

It seems no other team sports are so desperate to get back.

at least one positive in the Eredivisie is that despite being 7 points from safety, the maestro Alan Pardew kept Den Haag up

Five subs about to be announced.

They'll keep that throughout the period leading up to the 2022 World Cup because football is so hectic between now and then and of course by then we'll be used to it so it'll be permanent - another nice advantage for those that can afford bigger squads, better benches and need to keep those rotating superstars happy.

Yep even with behind closed doors, you are still looking at 400 people in attendance. How can that be justified, when people can’t see their family. Then you’d have other business (pubs/cafes etc) who would argue there is no difference in them having 20 odd customers at a time.

As for the second paragraph, agreed you’d think it would be more important for someone like a hockey player on 30k a year to be back playing than a premier league footballer on 30k a week. Yet you don’t hear from them pushing for a return. It’s the standard greed of the premier league officials.

Yep, this will only create a wider gulf between the top and bottom teams

Sure a lot of kids will want to go but I imagine some parents will not be too keen to let them.

A situation that might create even more tension in the families, and someone will have to drive them to and fro the stadiums.

La Liga keeping pushing for a restart including testing all players. Spanish FA and government insists any tests they buy should go to local communities before teating players

Most Korean games are practically played in empty stadiums anyway.  They built a load of 50,000+ seater stadiums for the world cup that have been adopted for the respective city's clubs.
