If you're not going to perform when the pressure is on, I'm not really sure if we want you. Villa have been great when the pressure is on. I'd offer £18m for Benramha.

Nah. £16m with add-ons like Maupay

It's legit.

Not allowing me to post the screenshot as I've reached my "limit" but it's all there.

I don’t know what to say then.  All the papers are saying different tonight.

You would have to believe Woodward if that’s his real account but all the papers and sky saying tonight it’s not that way......mystery continues somewhat

We need to start looking at ourselves as a big club again.  Do you think Everton/Spurs/Wolves fans are creaming themselves over championship players.  Yes the players being mentioned would add something but we need to start realising we are pushing on.  Old habits die hard i guess.

This is pretty much how I feel. As much as I think signing a couple of highly rated lower league players can be good business, it's risky. I think we need to set our sights a bit higher if we genuinely want to push on.

We also need to be realistic, we just finished a season with 34 points after 3 years in the championship, we can't attract the same players those 3 clubs will go for at the minute.

as shit as they were tonight watkins and benrahma would still improve us......go get them deano

I’ve watched enough of Benrahma to see he turns it on more often than not. Whether he can do it in the prem is a question always hanging over these types of championship attacking players. Personally I think if he works hard he can be the real business. Watkins reminds me of Callum Wilson, I think he can score 10 premier league goals for a lower mid table side so he’d be an upgrade on any of our current crop of strikers.

Didn't watch the play off final, but If Benrahma has been subdued and they lost, I think it means he's pretty much a dead cert for us. His performance potentially puts other higher placed teams off him and it means his price won't inflate further. I'd be surprised if this doesn't happen now.

It does make me wonder if we have been waiting for the Play-off final to happen before fully reviewing our targets.

Despite tonight's performances I would be very surprised if we don't at least explore options for signing Benrahma and / or Watkins.

players off the top of my head that will definitely be an improvement to our current options (Trez, AEG):

Buendia - RW/AM. My first choice. Pace, flair, close control all top notch. His PL stats speaks for itself. Can definitely improve on end product though. Will definitely be a star for us.

Benrahma - LW. His skills, pace and dribbling ability will scare any PL fullbacks. A player that will definitely get villa fans on their feet. You will be entertained. Could be a hit or a miss though. Dean Smith knows him well, he’d know if he got what it takes.

Harry Wilson - RW. This guys a weird one. Did very well for Lampard's Derby. Not so for Bournemouth. I think he would do well in a better team. Great left foot. Great technique from set piece and a deadball specialist. Will benefit a lot from all the free kicks Grealish wins. Long shots second to none. Only 22, which convince me he can grow into a good player of similar ilk to Snodgrass. Bench option maybe.

Januzaj - RW/AM. The wonderkid hype has died off, rightfully so, but he has grown into a player for Sociedad. Besides Oryazabal and Odegaard, hes their next best player. Very underrated. Quietly good. I think he would do well for us. Abit injury prone.

Brooks - RW/AM. Been injured this season. But was progressing very well right before the injury and definitely worth to give him a shot.

Cantwell - LW/AM. Similar style to Grealish. Which is what i like about him. Good enough option for the top 6 clubs. We should be in for him.

Viktor Tysgankov - RW. Unknown talent from Dynamo Kyiv. Haven’t seen him mentioned here before. Prolific Winger. Only 22 years old and been banging goals and assists consistently for the past 3 seasons. His stats is something like 20 goals 15 assists per season. I hope Lange is aware of this guy. Much much weaker league, so will probably be a huge risk.

Are you serious this has to be a wind up, most of your suggestions you write off yourself as risks, we are not in a position to take risks
