If you check the FA rules on this it works on a point system and having to be guaranteed a certain number of games in the incumbents new team is a pre requisit to getting a permit https://premierleague-static-files.s3.amazonaws.com/premierleague/document/2018/09/19/ef4c62c9-6b19-4189-a064-d212cbf68ce7/PL_Handbook_2018-19_Digital.pdf The rules around it are in here around pages 555 onwards (linked to the Home Office which grants the permit) and I don’t think there is any mention at all of needing to be guaranteed a certain number of games. But maybe you have seen something elsewhere. Sorry, I don’t do football work permits but I do have a lot of experience in this area and just flagging I don’t think there are any rules about number of games he must play for us (as I say, number of games he plays for us could of course affect FUTURE work permits). Anyway, all very off topic so will leave it there!

Why hasn't he mentioned Rashica since? Because he hasn’t got a bloody clue what’s happening, never has, he just saw foreign journo’s commenting and took a punt. I’ve no idea why anyone listens to him. 1

Any player with confidence in himself, would want to join project Villa, with whats going on and his wages would be increased if he done the business. Nah....something fishy with this one. I think that was the day of the Manure friendly and if I remember correctly there was a lot of talk that day amongst various foreign and domestic journalists that Rashica was a done deal. Gregg was obviously at Villa Park and heard the chatter, is my guess. He's definitely clueless, I'd completely agree. And comes across as very smug too. rayk
@Okonokos Genuine question. Which player would you compare Rashica to in the Prem? Would you just say he is a quicker version of Beundia? That’s the best analogy I can think of.

He's not even remotely like Rashica who's more a direct runner IMO

He is very highly rated and has been compared to Busquets, he is like a metronome dictating play from deep whilst breaking play up and I’d say as good if not better prospect than Luiz. I was just trying to build a picture of Rashica given that he scores and creates.

Usually only Villa games. From what I've seen, he seems a bit like Diogo Jota. Both are quick, direct and look to cut inside. But that's based on the limited time I've spent watching Jota. Buendia is more of a creative player, so not that similar. I'd imagine Buendia would be good played centrally so he can ping balls about the pitch and play through balls, which ironically is what Rashica loves to run onto. The two could work in the same team actually.

I think we all wanted a "marquee" signing, however you want to define that, as a statement of intent. Since we've signed Traore, who arguably fits that bill, and captured Barkley on loan, who certainly does, the need for Rashica is not as dire. Other than that, he quickly became something of a meme on here at least. I don't think everybody who was hyping him up was being all that serious in truth.

It’s a hugely important point. Dougie took most of the season to bed in and whether we sell him or not, we need competition beyond Nakamba. Given Espanyol have been relegated he’s definitely off, so let’s buy him now as we’re unlikely to be able to buy him in 12 months time.
