We do need another ST and right now I think Brewster maybe the best option over Rashica given that he can play across the line but is obviously particularly good as ST. Definitely need a CM/DCM as cover and I’d happily take a loan signing rather than panicking or if it meant we didn’t have enough in the kitty to get both a ST and CM. We’ll obviously need a CB if Engels leaves. Finally, and again assuming we don’t have the cash to get a perm deal, we need cover at LB. I’d like Lange to bring in a ‘unknown’ 20/21 year old, who can just come in without expectation, settle, and then step ahead of Taylor as deputy to Targett in the New Year. We've signed a good replacement in Cash it seems and we have a great PL experienced backup in Elmohamedy. If Cash is number one and Guilbert doesn’t want to be second fiddle, can’t really argue with anyone in that scenario. I’d also be disappointed but it is what it is. If that ISN’T the case, then I’m a bit baffled as to why we’d get rid of Guilbert unless it’s something behind the scenes. BG_Villa_Fan Posted September 22, 2020 Share Posted September 22, 2020 (edited) With Guilbert and Samatta seemingly on the way and whatever has happened to Engels it certainly seems we need a few more options for the squad. Targett, for example, is bound to miss 10 or so games through injuries. Hopefully they finally ditch the stupid no loans self imposed rule because there’ll be some decent players available by the end of the transfer window.
