Totally get the point about Eze and Jack playing in the same team, but if we really want to build a squad that can keep us out of the relegation quagmire (gigiddy) we should be looking at good players like this that will be part of a 25-man squad. If Jack got injured this season the best we could do is Jota. Having someone like Eze available to not only come in when Jack is injured / out of form, but maybe someone that could link up with him in certain games when we play Jack out on the left like we have toward the end of this season. However, it all comes down to what our budget is going to be this summer. 2

With that being said there’s also nothing to say we couldn’t have the three of them in the same team behind a striker too. All dependant on Brentford’s playoff performance mind you. I doubt we will move for a winger before that has been decided, Dean in my opinion will bend over backwards to get the lad Benrahma in having worked with him before. He’s got form for taking players with him hasn’t he
useless
Grealish and Eze can play in the same team more so than Grealish and Benrahama, as both Grealish and Benrahama play on the left wing, whereas Eze can play on either wing, in central midfield or as a No.10. I know people will say that signing Benrahma would allow us to play Grealish in central midfield but I think we need to get that idea out of our heads as he's nowhere near as affective there.

useless
When Grealish played in central midfied season just gone he didn't score any goals and provided only two assists, and the team only won one game. Not only does playing him central midfiield weaken his game but also the team, because it means playing with one less specialist midfielder
villalad21
Grealish was shait in the number 8 role. He has to play on the left.

Grealish was amazing CM last season and I believe with the right players around him he can work well there.

So we can only expect Jack to perform in the CM role once he have someone who can babysit him? A truly good CM plays well regardless who they are playing with. Look at Bruno Fernandes. He played just as well with Fred and McTominay as he played with Pogba and Matic. Jack is just so much better on the left. Not even up for debate. That we’ve lost that this year is a big part of why we’ve struggled. We’ve been forced to do it because our wingers have been so bad we’ve had to play Jack there to have any kind of threat upfront. It maybe wide left is his best position but he can certainly play central and having his options would be great. If he stays of course.
useless
Grealish was playing centrally at the start of the season when McGinn was fit and McGinn was outshining him, he was tried again centrally at the end of the season and we got one point from a possible twelve and Grealish was again poor by his standards and again was outperformed by another one our midfielders, this time Luiz. You can get away with playing his type in the championship but it's not so easy in the premier league, Man City are probably the only team that could get away with doing it. Gremio winger Would be nice if we can attract another South American or two and Wes & Luiz will help them settle. Beat me to it mate . But lets go Okay enough of linking us to players that are bottom table quality .. we are a huge club that should be in the top half we need to cement our status. Its now time for us to go HARD. Push on with some top quality signings. All except 3 or 4 players should not be starting for us next season out of this current crop. Ill list what we need with some ambitious but however realistic targets New RBGuilbert (Back Up) New LB Targett (Back Up) New CB Konsa (Back Up) New CM Mcginn (Back Up New RW Trezeguet (Back Up) New LW El Ghazi ( Sell Him) New FW Wesley (Back Up) Potential Signings Everton Soares (LW) Gremio - Age 24 - Ambitious but realistic target 30-35 mill approx Andre Silva (FW) Ac Milan - Age 23 - Again Ambitious would be a great player who can find the net. 25 mill approx Said Benrahma (RW) Brentford - Age 24- Excellent Signing proven on english grounds Ismail Sarr (RW) Watford -Age 22 Frightening Potential great player Ross Barkley - (CM) - Chelsea - Age 26 - Has tremendous ability and will do fantastic given a fresh start Tammy Abraham - (FW) - Chelsea - Age 22 - Hes reaching hes prime years for a striker he could find himself back at VP and produce greater memories Cant fill in the other gaps for other players but thats a start but hopefully our new sporting director can get the right players and formula . But can smith show hes a big enough manager for the players we attract ?
thunderball
QPR have allegedly accepted an offer of “around £20m” from Palace for Eze. This might move quite quickly.

I understand that, but Grealish, by his own admission takes a few games to get his flow, as demonstrated by the start of season and after restart. I think he’s been better on the left this season, but for people to say he’s trash there is just wrong.
rubberman
No @RicRic. There won't be, and nor do we need, 7 new starters. That's crazy, especially with the short turnaround to next season. 3-4 max, with maybe a couple for the future as squad depth. useless
He's not trash in midfield, in fact he's very good there, but it's playing out wide where he's most affective as an attacking force and it's playing there for us this season that has earned him his reputation as one of the best players in the league wanted by the best teams in the league.
