I would imagine them doing a Norwich should they come up. Not spending any money, their current squad showing talent but relegated at the end of the season. then selling their most valuable assets and combined with the TV money and parachute payments, building on a better squad and bigger club.

I feel sorry for the Brentford fans re the ground, back in March they wouldn’t have realised they were leaving their ground for the last time after a game.

To have their last game at the stadium with no fans is a real shame.

Most Bees I know have long since come to terms with it. A new stadium has been in the offing for two decades now and I think everyone is just pleased to be moving up the road.
If you’ve ever been to GP, you’ll know what a special place it is to watch football but you’ll also know how ramshackle, falling down building it is.
So many happy memories of the place, I’ve spent the last couple of years making sure I had plenty of photos and while it’s a shame to have not been allowed in there for a while, even if they don’t win the playoff final, the club is on the up.

How old must you be to have happy memories in Griffin Park as a Villa fan?

I have a Brentford supporting friend who has a borderline bloser-like obsession with us, so for that reason I hope they get battered in the final (plus the ever loveable Pontus Jansson plays for them, so....)

Ha. I am a Villa fan but I live about a mile from GP so I’ve been there a lot more than VP since I moved to London 20 years ago.

We made quite a few enemies in the championship who despise us and we give no **** about.

Think all they liked their days out at the big ground and want to stay in touch.

Brentford really enjoyed themselves v us actually.

One of their coaches is joining Arsenal to replace Fredrik Ljungberg.

Andreas Georgsson formerly at Malmö FF, apparently he specializes in set pieces. Arsenal raided them for their GK coach Inaki Cana earlier in the year.

Wonder is they have any throw in specialist coach we can nick, we badly need one.

10 for Toney already this season, shrewd pickup. Dont think we should have went for him at this time if honest as maybe 2 divisions is too big of a step for a striker but good business for Brentford

We should be pinching their scouts instead of players.

Brentford for me have ine of the best systems in the country.

Brentford in to top 2, although granted only 2 points ahead of Swansea but played 1 more.

I tend to think automatic promotion is well within their own hands this season, will be interesting to see if they can do the business this season.

if the worst happens and you dont get promoted, in relation to the new work permit transfer rules, how do you see Brentford adapting to the new rules?, i assume a lot of the previous players that you had signed that went on to the Prem, would be nearly impossible to sign in the future? (ie: Benrahma, Maupay), as well as other foreign lower league diamonds?

Similar to Buendia at Norwich....they wouldnt have been able to sign him wither i dont think under these new rules?

I really hope we find a way in England not to ruin development opportunities for rough diamonds......

I think its an open season as well in the Championship, just need a good run of victories and you are in a great position

This only applies to players from Europe I believe and it’s not that straight forward but the club are addressing this and we do scout players all round the world.
