Shocking isn’t it. Hopefully he’s struck off , or should I say struck down.

Don't think there's anybody to strike him off. The mainstream/established churches (Catholics, CofE, etc.) can have offenders 'defrocked' and kicked out, but this clearing in the woods was one of those 'start your own church' types.

faith healer who sold £91 "plague protection kits" claiming they could shield people from Covid-19 is being investigated by the charity watchdog.

Bishop Climate Wiseman of the Kingdom Church in Camberwell, London, claimed a bottle of oil and some red yarn would protect his followers from the virus.

In a blog, he wrote "it is by faith you can be saved from the virus".

He said his church was not telling people to ignore government advice, adding his message was from the Bible.

"I'm a Christian and there is a way that the Bible says to protect us from plagues," he said.

"I have not told anybody to get out of your house, go anywhere or whatever."

His blog said people would be protected "by covering yourself with the divine plague protection oil and wearing the scarlet yarn on your body.

"That is why I want to encourage you, if you haven't done so already, to get your divine plague protection kit today!"

Mr Wiseman told the PA news agency the church, which is a registered charity, had sold more than 1,000 of the kits, which were originally priced at £91.

He has previously insisted the church was not selling the kits, and that the price tag was only to cover the cost of the ingredients, yarn and postage and packaging.

The website link to buy them has since been deactivated following criticism from Southwark Council.

The Charity Commission, which regulates charities in England and Wales, said: "We are looking into the serious concern about Kingdom Church GB's alleged sale of false Covid-19 protection devices, as a matter of urgency."

The plague protection kit is one of many anointing oils offered by Mr Wiseman for a range of problems, including oil for peace, unlimited success oil and anointing oil for good marriages.

On the Kingdom Church's website, it claims thousands of people have been healed from "all sorts" of sicknesses and disease since it was founded in 2005.

And even if he wasn't going to (and obviously you're right, he is) what is in it for Starmer / Labour?

I can't imagine it'll play too well with the membership if one of the new leader's first acts is to join a Conservative government.

It's a bad situation for Boris - we'll be well over a thousand deaths a day very soon - he's out of action, and if the words 'Dominic Rabb is running the country' don't strike fear into your heart then I understand you wouldn't go for a national unity government. Starmer has everything to gain and nothing to lose - it's a big IF of course, but if this happens, it'll only make him look more like a PM in the nations eyes - so the Tories have to calculate - be squarely blamed for the biggest loss of civilian life in modern times - or make Starmer look more prime-ministerial. That's not a tough choice for Boris

MPs are to be allowed to claim an extra £10,000 in expenses to help them work from home during the coronavirus epidemic.

According to The Times, the cash can be spent on laptops and printers for MPs and their staff, or to pay for additional electricity, heating and phone bills.

It comes on top of the existing £26,000 a year that MPs can each claim to cover their office costs.

In a addition to the extra £10,000, Ipsa has also relaxed the ruled on the evidence MPs must provide to back up their expenses claims.

This gets the politics exactly backwards: Starmer has nothing to gain and everything to lose by visibly co-signing decisions he has no actual input into. He's doing it okay right now (as was Corbyn before); comment on a case-by-case basis, accept briefings, but don't be associated with any decisions.

My point was based on a true GNU arrangement where decisions are made jointly and power is even - of course he's not going to walk into a bear trap otherwise... Sorry read that back and I sound like a condescending prat - honestly wasn't meant to be!

Yes, some like Jim Jones and David Koresh have had a mixed press. But it’s not all bad.

The dearly departed Rt. Rev. D Wayne Love was an inspiration.

Don't worry, I don't think you're being condescending at all. I just don't think the scenario you're describing is on the table, or ever would be.

They clarified that 140 of those deaths took place on Wednesday, while 568 happened within the previous week and the remaining 57 were from March.

Just noticed this on the death figures report on Sky News today. They are only just reporting some figures from March? Clearly going to massage the figures to keep them under 1k.

Coronavirus: Doctor who warned prime minister about PPE dies with COVID-19

skynews-dr-abdul-manud-chowdhury_4965904

'A doctor diagnosed with coronavirus has died - three weeks after he warned the prime minister health workers urgently need more PPE.

Abdul Mabud Chowdhury,53, passed away after 15 days in hospital.

On 18 March he wrote a message to Boris Johnson asking him to "urgently" ensure personal protective equipment for "each and every NHS worker in the UK".

He told the prime minister that healthcare workers "are in direct contact with patients" and have a "human right like others to live in this world disease-free with our family and children".

Dr Chowdhury was a locum urologist who worked at Homerton Hospital in East London and died on Wednesday at Queen's Hospital in Romford after testing positive for coronavirus.'

Kind of frustrating how quickly the scandal of the lack of PPE has fallen off the radar, in favour of virtue signalling clapping, and prayers for Boris.

Germany’s army is donating 60 mobile ventilators free of charge to the UK following a call for help as the NHS scrambles to get hold of enough life-saving equipment as the Covid-19 pandemic intensifies.

Speaking to the Guardian, a spokesperson for the German defence ministry confirmed a report in Der Spiegel, according to which the Bundeswehr would send 60 pieces of equipment from its own depot across the Channel as soon as possible.

The German ministry said it would not invoice the UK for the ventilators.

More than 480 ventilators are understood to have arrived in the UK from overseas since March. They have been bought or donated from China, US, Germany, Sweden and Taiwan.

Edit: On a side note, the Swedes must really think they have this virus thing under control if they are not bothering closing their society and sending their ventilators to the UK...

Three nurses who wore bin bags on their shifts due to a shortage in personal protective equipment (PPE) have reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.

Just weeks ago, the nurses had shared a photo of themselves with clinical waste bags on their heads and feet as they issued a plea for proper masks, gowns and gloves at Northwick Park Hospital, in Harrow.

The hospital previously declared an emergency situation after all of its critical care beds were filled with patients.

More than 50% of staff working on one ward have now tested positive for coronavirus, the Daily Telegraph reports.

Metro, but widely covered.

I wonder if any tory voters are starting to feel like they've made a mistake? Surely even the most loyal supporters can't possibly think reports like this are acceptable?
