@GarethRDR, Svalbard have now joined Church Road Records which is being run by Justine Jones.  Suspect a lot of ex-Holy Roar bands will wind up here.

Palm Reader in too. CRR is originally Sammy's label I think (I think Motormouth was on it), with Justine on board as well now. So I've got my wish.

Absolutely. Still no noises from Holy Roar as to what is actually happening but subscription has been cancelled and suspect CRR will set one in due course.

Gotta plug my buddies new album. It's actually really quite good. Was recorded by Konie from Les Big Byrd (and previously Viagra Boys)

Think it might not be out in retail for another month thou...

Came out yesterday. For those into black metal/grindcore. They've added more cleans to their sound over the years, but they still pack one hell of a punch.

Yeah,  I posted this on the What Album thread. It's a corker as usual.

So the last 6 weeks or so have been pretty good* for heavy music. We've had:

Ulver - Flowers of Evil

Venomous Concept - Politics Versus the Erection

Mastodon - Medium Rarities

Ihsahn - Pharos

Napalm Death - Throes of Joy In The Jaws Of Defeatism

Svalbard - When I Die, Will I Get Better?

Deftones - Ohms

The Ocean - Phanerozoic II Mesozoic / Cenozoic

Anna Von Hausswolff - All Thoughts Fly

Lik - Misanthropic Breed (thanks @sne)

Enslaved - Utgard

Anaal Nathrakh - Endarkenment

All of which have been either pretty damn good or absolute belters! That doesn't include the rare back catalog releases that Boris have been doing as part of the Bandcamp Fridays which is just wonderful! Been very good music wise recently :D

With Devin Townsend's live album (which I was at the show for :D), Zeal & Ardor, Killer Be Killed, Carcass, Thou, Solstafir plus what else gets posted on here there is still a lot to look forward to. At least there has been some silver lining on this year music wise...

*Note: not included Metallica's S&M2 because, yeah... 😴

I heard about this, and I believe that amongst the digital releases were The Thing Which Solomon Overlooked Chronicle - so I looked it up on discogs, as I bought it upon release. One copy up on there for over £400 (although there hasn't been a copy sold on there for over £200, so perhaps a bit inflated), looks like my habit of buying what ever is available as soon as it's up for order is going to pay off one day.

Speaking of which, today the remastered versions of Amplifier Worship and Absolutego (CD only) went up for pre-order, plus the No LP which I bagged before it sold out on NYD. And all this only weeks after getting the single sided Boris 12". It's an expensive old game being a Boris fan, but perhaps one day, I'll be able to buy a nice car by flogging it all or something.

Knew the No LP was due to be released but didn't realise it was already up for pre order! F***!

EDIT: Yep as you say, sold out on vinyl but still available on CD, though I see it a colour variant though so I wonder if it will be more generally available on vinyl on other labels like the single sided Boris 12". Cracker of an album though.

And yeah the digital releases of the rare stuff will hopefully reduce the price of some of the ridiculously rare stuff. Would be nice if they re-issued them physically but at least can listen to them properly now.

2nd EDIT: I hate myself. Just ordered the CD version in the sheer panic I will miss out... Already have Absolutego and Amplifier Worship on CD so don't need them again so got a T Shirt as well to justify the shipping! :D

Not sure where to put this as I think it would get missed by the right people in buying/moving house thread. I am a way off at the moment but need to start thinking about how I move my vinyl and CDs from one house to another. CDs are fairly straight forward but has anyone got any experience of moving a large number of 7” and 12” sized records. Its not John Peel sized but its alot.

How are you moving house?

And what are they currently stored in?

Removal company for the house move, but 16 years ago a box of records were scattered on the floor when they were moved by a different company, so the only things I will be moving is my my music.
Currently they are in one big line on the floor in the attic. Their new home will be shelves on the ground floor but I am struggling to think how to transport them. Piles perhaps in the car.
