Match Thread: Brighton v Villa

Utterly pathetic performance. We’re so, so passive. There’s no fight, no desire and crucially no movement. Nobody ever seems to receive the ball in space. We’re in absolute freefall.

What's the matter with you lot?! We were 4-0 down at this stage last game - massive progress!!

This is not progress, we should be 2-1 up by now but we can't put our chances away, it's ridiculous.

It's about time that the players and Smith sorted this Sh!t out because it's tiring, boring and were making it look so flipping difficult to score now.

Jack and Ghazi should of buried there chances.

The counter was a crappy way to concede, it also looks like were not going to create much this game which means chances when they come we have to make them count.

We've got two central midfielders who are not fit for Premier League football, it's embarrassing.

Drinkwater is actually unfit, and Nakamba is doing the Reo-Coker thing of stopping the ball dead and moving himself round it because he's got no technique.

Get Grealish in the middle of the pitch. Now.

We can't keep possession because we don't have a midfield. Nakamba has been hiding all game and Drinkwater is way off the pace. Can't pass to someone if nobody is showing for the ball. We miss Mcginn so bad.

Watching Nakamba track around the park to position an opposition player between himself and his own player look to give the ball. Pure cowardice, at least Luiz doesn’t hide. We need a solid CM so badly in this window.

Hook AEG and put anyone else on upfront. Dire.

In the past month or so we have totally frozen as a team. There is no confidence anywhere. It’s the manager’s job to build players up and Smith is failing. Lose today and we are in big big trouble. We won’t beat Watford on Tuesday and it’s doubtful that we will beat Bournemouth. Massive team talk for Smith. Huge.

If Grealish doesn’t move into the middle of the pitch, something my six year old asked why he’s on the wing then Smith needs to sort himself out.

he’s our playmaker, without going through him we offer nothing. So he must be in the middle of the park otherwise might as well let Brighton have the three points now
