When Dennis Bergkamp first went to Arsenal many questioned him and his ability until he scored his first goals for them v Southampton (I think) - maybe he got 2 - in around October/November. It just took him and many other new players at clubs, time to settle in. Here we have an 18 year-old at his 'first' first-team squad team who is trying to play with older players, fit into a whole new system than that he is used to, having to earn the trust of the players, management, fans, and then produce the goods. Its a lot to ask of any individual never mind a young kid.

We should just relax a little and let him, Jedinak, Ipswich work it all out together.

Yeah but this guy is supposed to be this wonderkid. At least that's what he is hyped up to be.

There's a difference between talents and wonderkids.

Wonderkids tend to blossom early. Like Greenwood, Rooney, Lukaku etc

Guess that rules out Kane and Grealish being wonderkids then. I'll take talent for now and then we'll see.

It's possible Louie just isn't physically ready for men's football yet, despite having loads of ability. Might be worth bringing him back in January so he can carry on with the youth setup and bulk up a bit more, with a view to a more productive loan spell next season.

Get him to Bayern to train with Goretska.

Have a couple of Ipswich ST mates and they don't rate Barry ..... say he's way too lightweight and looks like a 12 year old playing senior football. They also say he plays with his head down, doesn't read the game, doesn't see team mates and basically offers next to nothing.

Sounds like he has moved up too soon !

Not saying they're wrong at this moment in time, but I'm bookmarking this one to use in a couple of years :D

Club can't charge into the rescue because a young kid isn't being handed chances on a silver platter and isn't taking them when they are offered.

Louie has a lot of talent but is in his 4th club (albeit on loan) Having only turned 18 in the summer. He has to go and fight for his place, learn a thing or five, grow & bulk up a bit and start applying his talents.

Can't just have (figurative or literal) mummy and daddy charge in and save him, bringing him back home to be sheltered in the Midlands and have an easy ride until a 5th club goes for him in January and try again.

A loan is exactly what he needed as decided by the club and player and we can't and shouldn't pull him out until he's given it a good crack.
