Someone whose music I admire rather than like, is how I view him. I could probably assemble a pretty good “best of” from his back catalogue and that would suffice.

For whatever reason I quite like him when he turns up in films.

Exactly what I was about to post.

I find him creepy.

Agreed. That's not to say he doesn't have his place and I like quite a bit of his material before Scary Monsters, from that album onwards he was generally awful to my ears and he's not really the visionary chameleon rock god that he's now been elevated to

Best of Bowie, double album of songs released before 1980. You can put the rest in the bin

Walnut whips in three packs.

Absolute bastards, they know what they’re doing.

Although, I did notice last week that Services M&S’s were selling individual walnut whips, which is a game changer. Because now I can buy just the one at Chievley. Then just the one at Reading. Then one on the way home from Membury.

I’ll be honest, I resisted them completely!

But I did notice them, sat there, in their little individual wrappers. I was well in to my walnut whips back in the day.

I’m all about posh vine ripened tomatoes now, **** the turtles.

By chance, I’ve just had my little map for April...

spacer.png

Them’s Yorkie miles, them’s chips miles.

Imagine driving a van or a lorry for a living to pay the mortgage, you can only eat takeaway because the hotel restaurants are closed or your company doesn’t have the budget for hotels with restaurants. You can only eat at motorway services because you can’t take the lorry in to that interesting looking town off the A40.

Then on the weekend some skinny kid looks at you and thinks, just don’t eat cakes you fat bastard.

And lets not forget that this whole conversation on Tubbies was started by someone whose country doesn't even use the top slice of bread in a sandwich

Which technically, makes it an edible plate, not a sandwich.

I’m glad we left.

It’s quite possible when Bowie has been brought up previously, you or someone else on here has said similar and that view was both succinct and accurate enough to register with me and sum up my feelings towards him.

Basically I think I might be echoing a VTer’s post from years ago.

It was almost certainly me.
